Decoration of a kitchen, emulsion of walls and ceiling and gloss painting of all woodwork. Painting 4 interior doors, gloss finish. Workmanship could not be faulted, all surfaces and kitchen equipment as necessary was fully protected before work commenced. All interfaces between conflicting surfaces/finishes masked. The finish to all the woodwork is the best I have seen. Reliability, on time always, lunch/breaks were working breaks. Very polite, nothing was too much trouble. Have already booked them to decorate lounge/dining area and a bedroom on a date to be agreed.

THE ENGINEER WAS VERY PLEASANT AND COMPETENT. HE EXPLAINED THAT A NEW CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM WOULD BE NEEDED. HOWEVER THERE WAS A RED WARNING LIGHT SHOWING ABD IT IS NOT KNOWN WHY!

We recently bought a 100 year old, terraced house in Reading and it was un-livable. The kitchen was small and cramped, the floors were rotten and damp and the decor was outdated. It needed a complete make-over and revamp to release the wasted space. During the first stage, John managed the removal of a two floor chimney and two supporting walls to create an open plan kitchen living room diner. He opened up the back wall for some double doors to the garden and bricked up the old door and window openings. The new brickwork seamlessly blends into the existing wall and the finish was exquisite! The rotten floor was ripped up and treated, then a solid block and beam floor was installed. He levelled off 3 different floor heights and did a great screed job. He then designed and laid a unique, reclaimed slate floor in our kitchen and insulated, tacked and plastered the walls with a mirror finish, ready for the new kitchen. Next up was the upstairs bathroom, John raised the floor level, installed the drainage infrastructure, built a stud wall for the shower and washing machine/dryer. He insulated, tacked, plastered and tiled the walls and shower cubicle, built a beautiful bespoke corner storage system and installed the bathroom units. He also removed the walls behind the staircase and made good the walls in preparation for the new staircases in stage 2. John also created a new bespoke exposed brick fireplace which is now the centre piece of our living room! Stage 2 has just started and we are so pleased John was able to come back. He exposed the ceiling opening in preparation for the new attic staircase. He then prepared the understairs area for a new wet room/toilet and designed and implemented a new sewage system. He then replaced all the damaged gutters on the roof. John is currently working on the understairs wetroom as well as the attic conversion. In summary, John is dependable, reliable and a great guy to be around. He has a wide skill set, a pragmatic mind and produces fine work. He is always on-time, works extremely hard and his workmanship is second to none. We trust John explicitly, he is like family to us and has his own key to our house! He is also great with our cats and all our neighbours. We are always happy to open our door for John and his prospective clients, so as to give you a preview of the quality of workmanship you would receive if you employed John for your construction requirements.
