Fitted a 66x98 Velux roof window. First impression during the site visit was good, but the installation was not up to standard. Hangers are not used at all which should have been a standard. Double timbers (trimmers) should have been used at the cut ends, but they said they skipped this because the window is light. Regardless, I cannot show this to the BC inspector. Also, the roof's rafter was cut too much leaving a gap both at the top and bottom of the frame. It looks like the cut ends of the rafter do not have much support. Also, one tile seems to be missing at top corner. No leaks at the moment, but still. I ended up hiring another roofer to strengthen the top cut end with a hanger and double up the timber at the bottom one.

Decent builders but with extremely poor communication skills. First the good points: 1. They are good at internal finishes 2. They create and use a Statement of Work (SOW) to track all costs of the project, so there were no major surprises in the project 3. They are friendly and hard workers - who arrive on time Gotbath UK Ltd used subcontractors to build us a 6 meter rear extension. Although they had an in-house architect, they did not know the law around boundaries which resulted in a conflict with our neighbours. After spending hundreds on hiring a boundary surveyor, the initial wall had to be re-built within our boundary. Gotbath did not take any responsibility for the wrong information they provided to us regarding boundaries and charged us for the rebuild. When discussing how to finish the inside of the extension, GotBath were extremely slow in ordering supplies and in general responding to us, so we took matters into our own hands and ordered materials ourselves which were removed from the SOW provided to us. At the end of the project, finishes took a long time and required constant chasing. Final gas, electrical and warranty documents took a long time to reach us and required a lot of chasing too. I have very little confidence that GotBath will honour the warranty document they have provided to us. It's a shame because I can see GotBath have a lot of potential as a builder. However, their lack of communication has really let them down.

My tenant had an issue with toilet. I sent over a video of the toilet. He quoted me £120 plus parts. When he arrived there, the ball in the toilet was fixed but the handle of the toilet was not working . He charged another £140 for the handle. I thought he was going to come back another day to fix the handle but he had the part of the handle in his car. He basically charged me twice for the same work at the same time . Always ask him to come and see the job first before he can provide you a quote . Otherwise he will rip me you off like he did to me. Stay away from him or ask him to see the job first before quote. Ie I’ll report this to mybuilder as well. Basically, he charged labour twice for the job I had advertised.

Ed did an excellent job fitting our internal doors, and I’m genuinely very impressed with the quality of his workmanship. Everything was fitted carefully, neatly and to a very high standard. He was also incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. He helped me choose and buy the doors, door linings, architraves and hinges from Howdens and even collected and brought everything with him, which made things much easier for me. Ed is patient, honest and clearly takes pride in his work. He has all the latest professional tools and equipment and pays attention to the small details rather than rushing the job. It’s really difficult to find good, reliable tradespeople these days, so I’m very glad I found him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ed and, for any future carpentry work, he will be the first person I contact.

I gave the Company additional jobs, as he had promised he could do it.. The builders caused more damage. I had to pay to undo the badly done jobs, as it was causing damp to rise from the cement they poured in the kitchen , having done a terrible jobs of the plumping works. The builders also left my house in a mess, with condoms, vomit, dirty under wears... and much items were damped at my propperty from another building site and home. Ivan than dissapeared to Prague, Czech...and so did his builders Was not able to get refund from him or his bank. Broadlight Theft Broadlight Abuse. Broadlight Damage. My utility bills was run over £1200, while carrying the works.. I lost at least £15,000 incl undoing the bad jobs n doing it again, plus utility bills.. The only thing done well was knocking down the partion wall in kitchen, which was a demolish job, labour only. This company is a liability...
