After initial meeting and agreed price, we decided to hire Patrick's company to do plastering and painting in the 3 bedroom flat. I was promised short timescales and plastering was done quickly and to a good standard, although Patrick tried to charge additional £50 on top of the initial quote, which was unnecessary to try something like that, especially considering the amount. Spoiling good relationship with a client is never worth £50. Painting was scheduled to start within 2 weeks' time. Despite the fact that Patrick should project manage, I still had to meet with his painter which obviously wasn't convenient for me, but they wanted to make sure the quote was right. We have all agreed for the beginning of works in 8 days time (for Monday), while other tradesmen in the flat finish their jobs (kitchen fitting, bathroom fitting, etc.) but not later than this. A day before, I messaged Patrick to ask what time I should get to the property to pass the keys and I was only then told that Patrick still didn't know when the painters would start. That was literally a day before! Sudden and complete change of schedule. Hugely dissapointed and very surprised we were left with a project on hold, so the same day I managed to find another company on MyBuilder and we started within 4 days. It turned out Patrick's unprofessionalism delayed us for a few days, but also saved us money, as the new company turned out to be much cheaper. Patrick didn't even feel like apologising for the problems.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS MAN WITH A BARGE POLE!!! He replace my trip switches and failed to send my certificate for this even after I continually contacted him for this. I was fobbed off time and time until I gave up asking as I did not understand how important this certificate actually was. After chatting with a qualified electrician he inspected the work and my fuse box was illegal and very dangerous. Basically my home insurance was void due to this dangerous and illegal workmanship. It was dangerous to the extent that if my house went on fire and people were injured / died I would be charged with manslaughter - no excuses. From now on I only use fully qualified electricians and needless to say he has failed to repsond to my complaint last week.

I am absolutely delighted with the work Kenny did for me installing a dog wash station in my garage. He arrived when he said he would and was always available either on the phone or via text if I had any queries. I was struggling to find an appropriate dog bath but he managed to source one for me. He took a hot and cold water feed from my kitchen sink and drilled through to the garage. He suggested a t-bar thermostatic mixer (I think that’s what it’s called!) rather than putting in an electric shower which saved me money too. The waste needed to be high enough to drain away properly and also be able to cope with mud, grit and sand from both the dog and muddy boots. He framed the bath and installed wet wall rear and side panels. He is very transparent with costs and does not add a mark up on parts needed. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Kenny for any plumbing work needed. Great job, happy customer and one clean dog! Thank you Kenny.

As someone new to this site for finding tradesmen, I have found the service given by Stewart has been really pleasant and positive. I needed a tradesman to install underfloor heating and lay tiles in my Dad’s bathroom. Stewart was very quick at coming back to me after I posted the job. After providing some background on measurements and the current state of the floor, Stewart provided me with a very fair, detailed and competitive quote. He considered all aspects of the job, including adjusting the height of the doors to allow for the tiles etc. Stewart also offered me two prices, as there were different ways of prepping the floor and he did not try to push one option over the other. We arranged a suitable date, and Stewart co-ordinated his electrician friend to come also once he had prepared the ground. Stewart had also offered to pick up all the materials as he receives trade discount. I had picked up most of the materials before posting the add, but Stewart had noticed I had the wrong tile adhesive (thanks to picture messaging), and he brought the correct adhesive when he came to lay the floor. I also appreciated Stewart sending me pictures of the tiling as I was not at my Dad’s when this was finished. He was very friendly and super tidy. My Dad and I could not be more pleased with Stewart’s work. All in all a very pleasant experience, excellent service and quality work. I could not have asked for more. Jenny (Edinburgh) and my Dad.
