Extensions- 9 Oct 2022
We engaged NB Building Services to build an extension (new garage and room at the rear) and extensively refurbish/remodel a bungalow. I met a number of builders/building contractors but I felt immediately comfortable with Nick right from the start. It was the first time we were ever starting such a project and we wanted to follow our instinct and go with someone we could be comfortable with over the duration of the project. Right from the start Nick came across as someone who is genuine and who looks to understand your requirements. Also, as my project had a few uncertainties that could affect the scope of the project I was looking for some flexibility and I felt that Nick and his team could provide that. Nick and his team (Stefan, Boris and Ilco) work very well together as a cohesive team. Nick provided a day-to-day customer contact while scheduling tasks on the building site and coordinating material deliveries. Every member of the team worked a full day and on occasions where it was important to finish something on the day, they would stay late to finish the job. What impressed me most when the work started is that the entire team is multiskilled – they do everything from bricklaying, timberwork, roofing, plaster/skimming etc. This helped me immensely when there were minor changes or modifications. That meant we didn’t have to wait for the bricklayer or plasterer to return to the site again. Nick also operated the heavy machinery like digger/breaker etc. Once the initial structure was complete the team again impressed me with their attention to detail when they moved inside to lay down plumbing, electrical wires, gas pipes etc. Nick and Stefan took the lead on the fine finishing tasks inside while Boris and Ilco provided important support and completed a lot of other tasks inside and out. It was during this critical phase when communication is most important that I appreciated Nick’s effort to keep us informed. As far as quality of work is concerned while we were happy with everything, I think the tiling work of both Nick and Stefan is outstanding. Our project lasted for about 8 months and while there were lots of discussions on areas of the project that I did not understand and I asked a lot of questions and also changed my mind on some things I don’t remember I we ever even had a minor argument. This I felt was an important win. Nick was also generous with his time and provided help to other trades who came on site e.g. window fitters, garage door installers; boiler installers; electricians etc. Nick and his team returned a few months later to lay down a patio with porcelain tiles for us and also a driveway with block paving. Once again Nick and his team discussed with us in detail what we wanted and provided suggestions based on their experience.

Couldn't recommend Rudy any more. Super polite, worked around us with timings, and smashed it out of the park with the shed door - exactly what we were looking for.

Rob completed a large portion of our home refurbishment, to include a knock through, kitchen installation, sky lantern installation, all new woodwork (skirting, archs etc) and media wall. I am a very fussy customer but Rob exceeded all expectations, compelting all work to a very high standard. Very professional, took the time to talk through all options before making our dreams a reality. Always left the house clean and tidy. Work was completed ahead of schedule. I do not usually write reviews but it is the least I can do as I sit in my beautifully refurbished house! Thanks Rob, I will be in touch in the future for sure.

Kitchen Fitting- 31 Jul 2019
Can't recommend this guy enough! Pat is a professional from start to finish. He came to quote me for a complete kitchen refit, within a few days he had emailed me a detailed quote and we agreed a date. My kitchen came with many unforeseen problems and challenges but Pat rose to them all. Aside from being a skilled carpenter and a skilled builder he is a great problem solver. He is reliable, trustworthy and very approachable. When I was getting stressed out he would calm me down and reassure me that everything would be ok. Sounds silly but my kitchen issues would have stressed a saint out! To summarise, my kitchen has turned out beautiful! Pat has done the work to a very high spec and gave it the wow factor! I absolutely love my new kitchen and am so happy that I chose Pat to come and do it for me. Look no further!!! Hope he posts my before and after pics on here and you can see for yourselves!

Painting & Decorating- 3 May 2018
I got 3 quotes from MyBuilder and Roland was not only the cheapest but also the most professional. I took a chance bearing in mind he was new to MyBuilder and so had no feedback. I am pleased I did. The painting has been top notch and he even came back on his own time to re fill some bits that my toddler opened the bedroom door onto. First class service all round. Highly recommend and will be using again for any further painting requirements.

My extention was left incomplete by a incompetent builder, I had plenty builders coming around for quotes until I decided to go with Peter & Chris after receiving their detailed quote with everything explained in blank and white. I am extremely happy with my choice, as they did a great job finishing the project on time and most importantly great finishes. Peter has an amazing interior design taste, I would definitely recommend picking his brains, Chris on the other hand is very experienced and knowledgeable in building, both work very well together as well as his labourers are very respectful and hardworking. I recommend Peter & Chris to anyone who wants a stress free project. An above and beyond service !

Garden Maintenance- 16 Oct 2016
Jeremy was very proactive and friendly, but ultimately didn't do as good a job as I would have expected. The brief was clear (I wanted the entire area turned over and prepared for planting) and he estimated 2 days' work. His estimate was off but instead of communicating this (and possibly re-negotiating fees) he handed over a half-finished job. While everything looked great at first glance, I still find large bricks, slabs and other debris less than 10 inches below the surface which makes planting anything into the flower borders an absolute pain. When I complained Jeremy did refund 10% of the job costs but ultimately I would have preferred a better quality of work and as a result would not chose to hire Jeremy again.
