Didn’t do a very good job. - He didn’t leave proper expansion gap. The timber boards either firmly touch the perimeter wall, or leave a massive gap that even the skirting boards cannot cover. I even provided my own mitre saw but he didn’t use it. - Timber boards are cut too short in the living room and when the skirting board is put back, there is still a 10 mm gap left, which looks awful. - The amount of wastage and off cuts was unreal. I ordered 30% extra and all was used/wasted. I have been left with lots of nearly full boards with only a small corner of each board being used, despite having lots of off cuts which could have been used instead of full boards. -He has damaged nearly all my skirting boards. I hired a painter and he was shocked how damaged the skirting boards were and how poorly they were put back! -He doesn’t vacuum the floor before laying the underlay. I provided a vacuum cleaner and he refused to use it.

We hired John Duke to do my mothers flat roof, he explained thoroughly to her and us what he would be doing to repair it, all at a good price. They arrived on time and proceeded to do a great job, again showing and explaining what they'd done, so all in all a great experience, stress free,and we have to say that the Star worker was his lovely friendly dog, would use them again if needed.

Alan did an excellent job on my whole flat for a very good price. I'm very happy with the work he did - painting walls, ceilings and woodwork and putting sealant round the bath. He maintained very good communication with me throughout, and offered some good advice about what to do with certain aspects. He's a conscientious person who takes a lot of personal pride in his work. Would definitely hire Alan again.
