Max is a nice guy, willing to do good job. He did not abandon the assignment although I believe he had not foreseen it would be this much work. But I need to say, he had no clue of what he was doing. Disorganised, absent too many times because of overlapping jobs and frequent last minute calls. The part he has done was sub-standard. He damaged the newly laid wooden floor in the house, left dangerous nailed boards and tools anywhere although we have two young kids and we repetedly mentioned to him that safety was important. He was using our hoover (which he broke), paintbrushes and other tools he found in the house because he didn't have his. He has transformed our courtyard into a dump, which he left behind. In charge of ordering glass panels for the stairs, he passed three orders with wrong measurements. I had to chase him many times so that we get it delivered and measures are still wrong. I ended up by firing him after 5 months and after he failed at delivering what he was meant to. Started mid september. Job was meant to be done in two weeks time. Mid March, 20% of the job was done, another 20% bad quality that needs to be removed and done again. That's all we got from him. Happy I only paid him 30% upfront. The whole thing has costed me so much time, stress and energy already, and now the project is costing me double because of all the material he wasted and the fact that what he did needs to be destroyed and made again properly by someone else.

This job was done extremely efficiently. Firstly Mushtaq was very prompt in providing a quote. I felt very comfortable with him and after i met his team who came promptly at 8am every morning, finished at 5pm after cleaning up before they left and I was not disappointed as the job was completed in the promised timescale and to an excellent standard!! Definitely use these guys as I will be!

We had 2 ads, 1 to fit doors & 1 to fit a kitchen. Jamie quoted for both but started the kitchen installation first. We have a 8 month boy & to avoid a lengthy install we bought a kitchen which the cabinets fully built (handles,doors etc). He worked for us, for one and a half days, he rushed the job, damage many parts of the kitchen, misaligning and denting the worktop, scratching our newly laid oak wooden floor & numerous other issues. We had to reorder damaged panels at extra cost to us. On the 2nd day Jamie left in a rush at approx 2pm as he said that he had forgotten to bring tools he needed to install our appliance doors. As soon as he left he typed out an email with the bill stating that he wanted the full amount & costs for the materials used. We questioned the bill and offered 50% & costs as long as he returns to finish off the kitchen. We have tried to contact Jamie & he has stated that he broke his leg & needs time to recover, to which we replied that we can wait. Then in Feb we tried to contact him again to which he replied that he was in Sydney and will contact us when he returns. Now it’s been more than 3 months since he undertook the job. We have been left high & dry with an unfinished kitchen & with a washing machine that drops out of its enclosure when on spin. We have given Jamie enough time (by law) to finish off our kitchen before we take further action for costs of repairing & finishing off our kitchen. Avoid J Hanly Bespoke Carpentry & Joinery Ltd

This builder is not honest; he didn't do the work to live up to his verbal commitment to quality. He refused to include the electrical work he had done on the invoice because he did not want to issue an electrical safety certificate. He is not a professional, and we argued 2-3 times about not doing the quality work and left work, giving unethical reasons. His work laying garden slabs was of poor quality; the slabs were moving when walked on. I asked him to do it again, which he said he did, but still he left the slabs moving while walking. I am thinking of legal action against him. I will not recommend him to anyone. PLEASE AVOID HIM GIVING ANY JOB IN YOUR BEST INTEREST.
