My name is Paul, I’m a bricklayer from Wiltshire and have been in the trade from a young age, I started labouring for a big gang before I started an apprenticeship with a company and done my NVQ level 2 in trowel occupations in which I have a blue skilled worker card now. I specialise in small jobs, garden walls, repair work, unfinished work I can take on porches, piers, you name it. Anything brick or stone or block I am more than happy to look at and get my self stuck into anything. Experienced with building houses to a NHBC standard, extensions, commercial building etc nursing homes and steel erected building, stone work natural and bekstone and footings Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials Lay bricks and other materials to construct or repair walls, floors, chimneys, and other structures Use hand tools to shape bricks and remove excess mortar Cut bricks to size using power saws or hand tools Ensure that structures are level and plumb by using levels, plumb bobs, and string lines Repair or replace damaged bricks or blocks Ability to read blueprints or specifications Proficient in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels Familiarity with power tools used in masonry work Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects Attention to detail and precision in bricklaying
