J&H timber services are friendly, reliable, down to earth people who enjoy working with timber from decking to sheds and fencing. Also a bit of landscaping and brightening up your garden. We both work 9-5 but this is more of a passion than a business as we both work in different trades. This means we look to do a few projects in our spare time meanin we can only work at weekends. As this is not a business with overheads and staff to pay we offer a good service at a competitive price. Thank you 😊

I didn't originally leave a review for this job and there were aspects that I wasn't happy with at the time. I know it is 6 years later, but workmen I have had in since have found a lot of faults with the patio slabs that they laid. A majority of them have moved or subsided. I am not sure whether they are still in business as the last review that I can see is in 2020. This was also only a sideline for them as their main job as I remember was working on the railway. Slabs were laid dot and dab and not a full cement base. There is nothing under some slabs to support them. The base wasn't compacted before slabs were laid. I have subsequently had to pay out more money to have it corrected.

Home extension completed by Mick, & we are absolutely thrilled with the results. From the very beginning, Mick was professional, approachable, & incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and offered brilliant advice along the way. One of the things that really stood out was Mick’s practical and creative ideas some of his suggestions actually saved us money without compromising on quality or design, which we really appreciated. The quality of the work is excellent everything was completed to a high standard, & the attention to detail really shows. Mick & his team were reliable, punctual, & kept the site tidy throughout the project, which made the whole experience so much easier for us. Good communication in the beginning, small issues post having a full rewire that has left me stressed for weeks. I have contacted multiple times trying to get the paperwork for the job they have completed, it's been more than 3months. With multiple verbal promises that it will be done and sent. This has made me so anxious and stressed everytime I have had to contact them about the same issue more than 6 times. I have decided to just go through trading standards at this point. Lovely ppl at the start but I guess that's just ppl. Update: after leaving the initial review they have gotten back to me and issue was resolved.

excellent job done I am so happy I had brick walls and a brick porch window and door done by this man Richard and it is top class looks so smart he worked well cleaned his mess up and was not slap happy with the brick work and turned up on time every day, I watched him a couple of times out the window and he does the work to perfection and on top of that his price was good I am having future work done by him as I have a good builder now and I intend to have the work done by him all the time I was wary after another builder recommended by a friend done a bad job and took my money and did not return but that's in the past now and RMS has put everything right . p.s people are driving past my house nearly bumping into each other looking at my garden and walls and porch as I live on a main road also everyone walking by has said it looks very nice I have even had a note put through my letter box from one of the neighbours saying it looks beautifull :-) I recommend this builder so much now I have had a job well done.

Nick is an outstanding joiner. He fitted 7 internal doors which all had tricky frames as it’s an older house and the result is amazing. He is extremely polite, works hard and tidies up after himself thoroughly. We can’t recommend him highly enough.

Overall a decent and good quality job, however not reliable with timings. Also was meant to come back for finishing touches and never bothered once the payment had been received. It was not the cheapest of all quotes but sounded more professional and pleasant than the others. A few disappointments but overall not a bad job.

We had an overboard "wet" UFH system fitted in a large kitchen diner. There were several problems mainly the very uneven floor levels with varying surfaces underneath. Seth and The Thermal Heat Company were very solution focused and dealt with all the problems professionally. I was particularly pleased how every stage was fully explained in advance and during the work. The quote was detailed, accurate and represented good value for money. The job overran slightly due to the complexities but did not incur extra costs on the price quoted. Final snagging issues were dealt with promptly. Cutting of the overboards and sanding of the concrete flooring created more dust throughout the house than we expected so consider this in advance if you have a similar job and screen rooms. Overall a 5 star review and I'm very happy to recommend The Thermal Heat Company.

Michael fitted 3 new windows and 2 handles for me, and also sorted out a faulty catch on another which he did for free. He quoted less than other companies and the work he did was to an excellent standard.
