  Joinery & Cabinet Making- 10 Feb 2019

  Jerome & Mark fitted some Victorian style alcove cabinets for me. The job was made more difficult with no two walls in the house being straight! They came up with some innovative solutions to make the finished product look great. They also worked around other things going on, were always polite and considerate clearing up after themselves. Would use again.

  Driveways (Tarmac Surface)- 4 Sep 2018

  Work was originally scheduled to start 4th June but only began on 26th June as Sutton Ltd were very busy on a number of other, larger projects. The crew who attended were good skilled workmen who worked hard in difficult conditions during the heatwave. New concreted passageway was meant to eliminate rainwater 'pooling' on surface. The first time we had some rain (2 weeks after works finished) it was apparent something was wrong as surface water had not run off as expected. We sent a photo to Paul Sutton (co-owner of Sutton Ltd who had been dealing with us by text & phone after accepting job) but sadly he decided they had finished the job to the agreed specifications and that was an end to it. We had by then paid their bill. We wrote to him once more but no reply. We weren't happy to be 'off-loaded' in this way by Paul Sutton because he reckoned the job was done properly. He was never here during the work nor did he come to inspect it when finished. Later, he informed us that one of the 2 men working here on the last day was in fact his younger brother, Phillip Sutton, so it must have been Phil who 'signed off' on the job, but we had no idea. P.S. We've since had another company here to rectify the problem. They highlighted a glaring fault. Using a spirit level they found half the new surface was sloped backwards, so rainwater couldn't run off as intended. Have learned the hard way but at nearly 80 we're not taking matters further. Problem now sorted!

  I'm an old retired builder and I knew that ripping the entire back of the house off and installing heavy steel beams was a job for someone younger. Shane did an excellent job and he did it for a fair price. He communicated very well, arrived when he said he would, managed materials and equipment without a hitch and thoroughly cleaned the site when he was finished. I was particularly impressed with the standard of his work - and with his work ethic. I've already arranged another job for him.
