Carpentry- 2 Dec 2025
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience dealing with Don. Initially work seemed fine. Oak treads cut to size and attached well but then Don stained it without using the right technique and left it patchy and completely the wrong colour (compared to our other stained staircase). Don offered no solution or offer to help rectify. Blamed the stain despite proof that if applied correctly it would colour correctly. Since then the stair treads have now also dislodged, all the glue has come loose, the risers have lodged out of place and all the wood has warped. I have contacted Don politely on several occasions, sending pictures of the issues but he continues to ignore us. 2 other carpenters have confirmed Don used the wrong adhesive requiring now a full replacement as the wood warping is irreversible. Avoid Don at all costs would be my recommendation. Don is not a professional tradesman. He has cost us thousands in rectification works, don't make the same mistake we did.

Extensions- 2 Oct 2024
He did the extension well, brick work is good, rendering on front of house good, terrace and wall with the neighbours good ,toilet under the stairs good, dividing wall in the living room with sliding doors good, kitchen installed good. Fence wall in front of house good brick work wrong bricks but it’s ok. Herringbone parchet wrong with gaps and lifted, rendering on the side of house wrong with marks, the new boiler took 2 months to make it work and the radiators still don’t work. Electrical work bad, after bringing another engineer to check we discovered at the boiler live cut cables that were loose and veri dangerous. Took 4 months to finish job we waited one month for the plumber who either way did a bad job. Laurentiu did not finish the job because of plumbing and rendering, and we ended in bad terms, he left us money to compensate for it. I would recommend him for extensions and any brick work, he needs to improve in pluming, electrical, flooring and rendering.

Gas Work- 2 Nov 2026
Boiler repair left unfinished, no water or hot water David came to repair our boiler heat exchanger. He told us the old washers couldn't be reused, so new ones were needed. David then left, was paid, and didn't offer to come back to finish the job. I had to drive an hour to find replacement washers. Meanwhile we were left with no water, no hot water, no central heating and no fix in place. We later found out the old washers could have been reused. If we'd been told that at the time, the repair could have been finished on the day. Also, while the mains water was turned off, David used our toilet, knowing it couldn't be flushed until the water was back on. Overall, very disappointed. The repair wasn't completed, and we were left without water.

Joinery & Cabinet Making- 27 Sep 2026
Kris installed some alcove cabinets and shelves for us in our living room and we couldn’t be happier with them. He was very helpful from the outset, and the job was completed efficiently to a really high standard. Alongside the cabinets and shelves themselves, Kris also replaced our sconce lights, remounted our TV and painted the alcoves. Can’t recommend Kris enough, thank you!
