  He was a no show, supposed to come yesterday at 1pm, I stayed in till 2pm, incase he was running late, I’ve now got someone else to do the job and for less that what he quoted

  “10 years guarantee” and promised to come out and review my roof. Which did not or did not even respond to messages, I would avoid this company. The work they have done is SHOCKING.. and I still have a leak, paid 1500 for cow boy work. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

  I had a terrible time with JM Stone. I own two ground floor apartments in a stand-alone sandstone tenement. I asked them to quote to rake out & repoint the walls of the whole ground floor in lime mortar. They measured up and sent me the quote. I told them I had time constraints; the flats are holiday lets, and we were due to open post-Covid lockdown in two weeks. They told me they could complete the job in the next ten days. The first problem was that they failed to complete the job on time. I then had to close for a few days to allow them to finish. I then became concerned that they were only working on half of the building. When I raised this, they told me that "a neighbour" had instructed them only to quote for half. Really?? At the end of the second working period, JM Stone told me that they had only completed half the job but wanted half the money. I told them that wasn't acceptable. I wanted them to complete the job and pay them what was agreed. I also asked them to name the neighbour so that I could take this up with them. They refused. By now, dealing with them had become so stressful; I just wanted to pay them for the delayed, half-finished job and move on. So I made JM Stone an offer of 70% of what they wanted. The accepted. I have since paid them the 70% despite receiving threatening and abusive messages from them. I have renovated houses for the last 30 years, and I have never met a firm like JM stone. I would avoid these guys like the plague.
