1) Full renovation of bungalow to house, including new roof and dormers. 2) Renovation of 2 storey office from plasterboard and studwork to fully fitted office. The core team have a good in depth knowledge of the trade and a wealth of experience between them. The jobs were scheduled well and completed in a timely manner. The site was very tidy and any changes that needed to be made were done without it being any trouble. I Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Roofing (Pitched)- 4 Dec 2024
Came to the location and did the job there and then. He said all it needs is a seal between the tiles and the lead coming down the valley. He cemented the lead valley and painted it with bitumen. Didn't seal either side of the lead where it meets the tiles. I asked for the flash band to be removed which they didn't do and painted over it. Took three people, a ladder and about 30 mins and charged quite a lot for the job and already had the stuff in the truck which I assume was paid for by another customer, but that's not an issue, wherever profit could be made I guess. It doesn't mean the job should be done carelessly. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing". He guaranteed the job and said he'll come back if it didn't stop the leak and if it didn't work the second time, then he will give a full refund. I did call him as the leak continued but after several messages of excuses started ignoring my request. Very keen for a review. So thanks very much for your help and honouring your guarantee.

Matt was really professional with a wiring/fault issue, very helpful and did a great job diagnosing a problem that wasn't anticipated and taking necessary steps to fix it. We negotiated on price and he was competitive and made himself available quickly which was much appreciated. Would hire again.

Carpentry- 19 Sep 2023
Very poor quality and unprofessional service. Job -Repair and replacement of floorboards, landing and two small rooms & oak overlay on stairs. 2nd day on-site. Put a nail through a water pipe. We requested a certified plumber was called to rectify the problem. He was extremely reluctant to do so & wanted to fix this issue himself. So we called a plumber. He was overheard on the phone, requesting his partner bring a pice of cooper piping from his home. He was asked to take away excess unused flooring to enable credit on materials & lied and said my Father wanted to keep them. JJ building requested more money to continue with stair job but admitted he cancelled the oak order. He was informed further discussion with family was required before proceeding. He abruptly left the site leaving 2 pensioners with no water, water damage to ceiling, door frame & paintwork to manage. He took our only copy of the signed contract when he left. Luckily, a plumber fixed the piping. We have incurred the cost and also calling out a washing repair company to sort water supply. We will also have to pay for repairs to doorframe as expanded and cracked and surrounding wallpaper has bubbled due to the water damage. We have since tried to contacted Jj building, also requesting details of public liability insurance, but have had no response to date. We have informed Trading standards. We have also tried to contact my builder.com directly, but as yet also have received no response.

Plastering- 31 Jul 2023
Hi all - Dan and his father Dave are very helpful from pricing and explaining what you need doing to supplying a quote. Couldn't be more helpful and pleasant dealing with them as a team, the companies price for the job I had done was extremely reasonable and they have good 100% feedback. From arriving on time in the morning to finishing the job they performed excellently. Clean and tidy when carrying out the work to leaving the job each day the same. I had a rather large job done by them, whole gable end of house render taken off and replaced professionally with Johnstone's finish, the job completed within short time for the work carried out, I are very pleased with the work done from start to finish - immaculate. Thinking about having them back again next year to do some plastering -finishing inside the house this time. Thanks again Boys ! Look forward to seeing you again. 5 Star's. Wouldn't think twice about re-employing you guys ! Cheers. Nicholas. Thorhill. North Cardiff.
