I recently decided to go self employed as a plasterer starting part time to minimise the risk. I'm doing ok and the works coming in but still feel i need to do abit more advertising I've only had some business cards done up and sent them around and worked ok. I'm Tom, the person behind Furze & Fix — a local handyman service based in Furzedown, South London. I've been hands-on with DIY and home improvement projects since studying Design & Technology at school, and over the years that's grown into a genuine passion for building and fixing things properly. I've increasingly been taking on professional work and am now looking to offer my services more widely. I offer a range of general handyman services but my particular strength is joinery — things like decking, shelving, and general woodwork, where I take pride in getting the details right. I'm also happy to help with furniture assembly and general home fixes. By trade I'm a chartered engineer with a mechanical engineering degree, so accuracy, proper planning, and doing a job to a high standard aren't optional extras for me — they're second nature. I don't currently take on electrical or plumbing work, but for anything in the carpentry, assembly, or general handyman space, I'd love to help.
