  Ben was excellent: he's a very friendly and professional individual who clearly was able to present the different options avaliable to solve the requested problems as well as explain any challenges he faced. He sorted a number of new plugs, completed some very challenging wiring (the joys of Victorian properties!) and installed a number of new light as well as a wired in a fitted a new heated bathroom mirror. Overall 10/10 - I highly recommend you use Ben for your electrical works.

  Hocay did excellent work for us. Despite having no prior feedback, I invited him to have a look at the job and was impressed. He was clear about what needed to be done, in what order, and what tools/materials he would need. This ensured that the job was finished on schedule and on budget. Our newly-plastered bedroom has been painted and panelled, and the skirting has been painted and installed, all with expert precision. My house is over 100 years old, so nothing lines up properly. Hocay consulted us on a number of ways to work around this, and ensured that the job was done to such a high standard even though the room wasn't perfect. He did not - as others have - complain that the job was hard. It's clear that he has top notch technical skills. More importantly, Hocay is easy to work with. He was always punctual, diligent, and communicative. English is not his first language, but he asked the right questions to make sure we were on the same page. It's also worth mentioning that after painting and decorating at my house, he went off to a night job, and returned promptly and full of energy the next morning. I can't commend his work ethic more highly. All in all, Hocay is one of the best contractors I've worked with, in terms of quality, personality, and price. He will be the first person I call when I need more painting and decorating done and I would thoroughly recommend him.

  John Wardle and his crew did a magnificent job on our bath and shower rooms. We took a chance on Johnny, as being new to My Builder he didn’t have any reviews. Johnny’s assurance that he only did one job at a time was a big plus. Johnny tackles everything with an engineer’s eye. Our bathrooms job turned out to be far more difficult than first thought. Our very quirky stable conversion, last updated decades ago, was challenging. Once the work started it was discovered that the old Velux windows in the bathroom had been secretly leaking behind the tiles for years causing water damage to the joists and walls. A sheet of glass was discovered sandwiched in the stud wall and tiles had been tiled on top of tiles! It was very distressing to see walls, floors and ceilings having to be torn down to fix the problems, but it was comforting to know that Johnny and his crew knew exactly how to do the best restoration job. Johnny contracted in electricians and a heating engineer and organised things so that everything ran smoothly. Everyone worked really well together. All those working in our house were a pleasure to have around: they worked hard, were respectful and friendly. Having confidence in those doing the work made a potentially unbearably stressful situation a lot easier to cope with. We now have a fantastic bathroom and shower room which exceed our original expectations. We are very grateful to John Wardle and his crew and have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

  Dave, gave a prompt and competitive price then came to do the work promptly too. He did everything and when the job expanded a bit (to re-laminating a staircase) he went out of his way to come back and do the extra stuff, too (for extra day's pay, as arranged). A good guy.
