We were sadly let down by Dean. We hired Dean in February 2022 where an indicative date of April was given as a completion date for all of the works, May 2022 by latest. Now in June and 40% of the works have been left incomplete and he has not been back to site. Though most his output was to a high standard, his project management and productivity rates let him down, taking nearly a week to hang three doors. The replacement guy I had to source, did a quality job hanging nine doors in two days. There were also a number of occasions where communication could have been handled in a more professional manner, including having the courtesy of returning a quote to a family member for some work, that at the time, I was happy to recommend him for. However, if you have smaller jobs that are not time pressured, then Dean could be the man for you.

Quick to attend and win the job, but then completely lost the plot and went 6 days without replying to messages on this very site. By the time he finally admitted the job would not be going ahead, I had already spent thousands on materials at his request. I wish Chris all the best in his personal life, but he doesn't belong on this website taking work away from sincere professionals.

We had a very good experience with Josh of J.H Fencing. Following building/renovation work, it was necessary to clear the ground and completely rehabilitate the lawn with new turf. Josh communicated well during the entire process, and was prompt in responding to all queries. He started and finished when he said he would. He gave helpful advice so our garden ended up looking much better than before. We were really happy with Josh and would thoroughly recommend him.

I had a loft hatch fitted but after a few days the door was no longer flush with the ceiling. The base of the ladder was also catching on the frame so wouldn’t open properly. On closer inspection there are some screws which haven’t been tightened. A section of the ladder does not align which according to the instruction manual is not correct. There should have also been two springs fitted which he didn’t fit at all. I spoke to him asking him to come back which he agreed but never showed. He then ignored all my attempts at contacting him. Awful job and also he didn’t take responsibility for his shoddy workmanship. I have attached photos for proof.

A waste of time. 0/10. I agreed a price and a date with Dan at D&A Fencing for a fence around my garden to be replaced, but then they never showed up, so I wouldn't bother with these people. It isn't worth the hassle.

I hate giving bad reviews. However we had a very poor experience. We paid a deposit upfront for plastering work, with the clear expectation of smooth walls, no cracks, and a properly finished surface ready for painting. At the initial visit, he then advised that this could not be achieved as planned and said it was instead a decorating job. The work was originally expected to take only a few days. However, over several months there were repeated cancellations, delays, and last-minute rescheduling. On multiple occasions we were given confirmed dates and times, only for the job to be postponed again — often on the same day, with different reasons provided each time. Despite repeated assurances, the work remains incomplete, causing significant disruption to our plans. Communication became unreliable, and we had to repeatedly chase for updates. In the end, we were left with unfinished work after paying over £500. Strongly advise others to proceed with caution.
