I feel very fortunate to have found Penrose, and his team, to do repairs and renovations of my house. As I live abroad, I was especially grateful that he routinely sent photographs, and thorough descriptions of everything he was doing, and gave me options to choose from. And he was available at all times to chat on the phone to discuss things. Many other builders don`t pick up the phone. When I was able to visit my house and meet him, he was a thoroughly nice and totally trustworthy person, who can undertake almost any job, big or small. His fees are very reasonable and he will go out of his way to help. I will always turn to Sussex Handyman Services in the future.

Graham laid artificial grass, built a large raised bed and extended our patio and all of this was done to a very high standard. He tidied everything up at the end of each day and kept us informed about progress. We made variations to the initial work and this was accommodated without any fuss. Would we use him again? Absolutely. In fact we’ve already asked him to do another job for us….

Fantastic job completed by friendly professional team. Full garden makeover, including levelling lawn, returfing and fencing. Also had large tree removed, carried out with minimal disruption to neighbours. Garden left clean and tidy when completed. I was kept up to date with the works and they were more than happy to make amendments to the original plans as we went along. Great job....highly recommend!

I believed Richards previous clients and was excited to instruct him. However Sadly he has messed me around for 5 months. We agreed a price / work and he said he would start in May. However he took on another job and pushed my garden to mid June. On 7th June he sent an email with invoice stating he would start on 19th June and I needed to pay 2/3rd of the agreed sum on that day £4,226. Sadly my bank refused to send such a sum and phoned me the next day. I asked Richard if I could pay for materials now and the surplus on 19th when he started - this was not acceptable. I spoke with the bank and sent the complete funds the following day. However, unbeknown to me he had already sent an email stating he could not work without trust. As I’d paid the full funds I hoped he would change his mind - he did not. He returned the funds two days later. I don’t often get upset but having trusted him and waited 5 months I am truly gutted. In the mean time - having ordered the greenhouse and bought plants ready for my new garden - I’m hoping the greenhouse doesn’t get broken and I’ll struggle to keep the plants alive whilst I search again for another gardener - and trust/hope they actually turn up.
