We recently had our kitchen refurbished by Dumitru, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. He’s one of those rare builders who combines professionalism with real care for the details. He worked efficiently, kept the place tidy throughout the project, and always cleaned up after himself — which honestly made such a difference when living through a renovation. What I appreciated most was how supportive he was when it came to choosing the right materials. He guided us through the options without ever pushing, and his advice proved spot-on. The final result is exactly what we hoped for and more. If you’re looking for someone reliable, skilled, and easy to work with, I totally recommend Dumitru P.S. For anyone curious about the scope of the work: Dumitru changed our worktop, removed the old tiles and redid the flooring with laminate, installed a new cooker and hob, fitted a new sink, repaired the walls after the new boiler went in, and repainted everything. DJL is a friendly, family-run firm comprising three brothers (at least...) under the supervision of their father. Clearly they know the construction business inside and out, and are able to supply most construction skills inhouse, while others they will contract out (at a price). What started out as (I thought) just a fencing job (albeit a big one), turned into a rebuilding of 20m of wall (and half of it 6' high), and required the refurbishment of an elaborate shed with the replacement of 6 windows, repairs to the roof, the addition of a new garden gate, and an additional repaving of the path, plus all the fences and trellis work - and all because of unrestrained ivy growth over many years, which had concealed the massive damage it had caused to the walls. I have to commend DJL for speeding up the timetable and working through some appalling weather (inc some weekends) while enduring a series of frustrating supply issues (to do with the general shortage of materials). Also for pointing out that with the simple addition of a flat roof I could now turn my parking area into a two car garage and get something back (a job for next year, although DJL did some useful preparation, including adding the power supply). Overall, my experience, while completely unexpected and undeniably painful (ivy!!!), was constructive due to their help and perseverance.

The guys were more human than just fencers ; they helped clear some trees and then installed the fence. Only advice is - be clear of what you want so they do not have to undo and correct things but they will do everything whole heartedly. Colours and quality of fence vary but decide whether you want to buy own material or have it supplied. The areas with concrete already can be challenging but they managed that very well and very neatly. They clear up the mess from either side and most importantly ; they will give you a good deal better price than most companies !
