We hired VEO building contractors for chimney removal . The work has not been done to the good standards. The guys who removed the chimneys left the house with a lot of mess . After the chimneys were removed the plastering job was not done properly. The walls were not levelled . We sought independent advice from other builders and they agreed with us that after the removal of chimney the plastering job has been done to poor standards . We contacted VEO building contractors to resolve the issue but they didn’t bother to pick up the phone and later refused to rectify the problem.

Would not recommend these to anybody. They consist of Father Tony, Gareth (GWT) son and Ted - son. They started our New Build in March this year with a finish date Mid September. The schedule was amended and another date provided of the first week of November, this was amended to the 17th of November. We requested a finish date, they didn't provide one, so we accepted that they would leave site. They have left us with lots of problems, took a deposit for Air Source Heating but did not pay it over to them. We needed the build to be completed by the latest the end of January, we have not got the second fix done yet, no interior. We would estimate there is three to four months work yet, which makes it March 2021 ( A year when 6 months was quoted). There has not been any delays due to supplies and Covid, we have had a kitchen sat on site for 3 Months in line with there latest schedule. We strongly recommend that these be given a wide birth. They have passed on comments about ourselves, making it difficult for us to access tradesmen.

Avoid Phil and KPM Construction (South) Ltd like the plague. My experience with Phil was beyond the worst I’ve ever experienced with a tradesperson. I’m sure Phil will respond and attempt to place blame on me. I understand from other customers and trades he uses that they will say similar to me. The job started in July last year (was meant to be finished within a few weeks) was never finished and it was only a month ago that we finally got our money back - probably one of the lucky ones. He has caused a huge amount of stress and wasted time to us. We chased him many times and he would ignore us for weeks on end, coming up with numerous excuses of why he couldn’t do the work, including blaming us. His lack of professionalism is beyond me and we had no choice but refer him to trading standards during the process. I’m just pleased we were able to find another builder which has provided some perspective in terms of how truly awful our experience with Phil was.

After a month, I had worst problems than the original one and no communication on how to fix the problems that the trade person caused. Waited for 2 months and gave plenty of time for Luca to respond, but I dont think he is willing to go back and check what the problem was. I have wasted my money and now I have to deal with a bigger problem as well. Please try to avoid his services.

Keep away from this cowboy. the owner is not a qualify gas safety engineer and yet responded to my post about gas safety certificate and gave me hand written gas safety certificate after checking equipment's in 10 minutes , not only that he fixed leaking sink and he took 2 minutes to fix the leak and within a week the sink is leaking again. total cowboy. I naively paid him on the same day for both the jobs.

These are not professional builders - they are thieves that take your money and do not show up to work - These are crooks !! - Do not use them. The work that they did was completely superficial just as to show they were doing something. Feel free to contact me for more information on these people. Sorry this is long: our experience differs to most on here. We chose Better Living to do our side and rear extensions from start to finish. All was good until the subcontractors finished the main structures, then it all went downhill. Ben rarely answered his phone, texts, emails etc., and because they had started a bigger project elsewhere they repeatedly abandoned ours, often for weeks at a time. Even when we went on holiday, they had the complete run of the house for two weeks but did very little. Ben deliberately held up work for two weeks after receiving a stage payment a day late, having given us one day to pay after emailing an invoice. Beyond the main structural jobs their work was often sub-standard and our instructions were not followed due to poor communication between the team. Out of frustration we eventually took a lot of work off them and drafted in other tradesmen to complete the project, also doing some of the work ourselves. We have since had to have some of their heating work rectified by engineers. Not saying everything was bad, but fact is the list of problems and poorly completed jobs is too long to list here. They finished at our property over three months ago and have still not sent us the completion documents. As usual, Ben is not responding to our attempts to contact him. Despite being hospitable to their team, we feel we were treated shabbily by BL and sadly would not recommend them.

Do not hire this guy. He started a work for me and left it unfinished after collection of £300 deposit following further request of payment different from initially agreed deal. His piece of work was not good and he is so unprofessional. The Police had to be called for him to leave my property.
