I’ve been working as a stonemason for 28 years. I served my apprenticeship in a traditional building firm specialising in the restoration of churches and listed buildings in the Somerset area. I’ve an extensive knowledge of local stones and lime mortars and their applications along with other conservation/restoration techniques. In addition to this I’m a time served banker mason and in addition spent three years studying architectural carving at the City and Guilds School of Art. I’ve worked on numerous prestigious projects over the years including the restoration of The Commons Inner Court in the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament). I’m adept at consulting with clients, local authorities, listed buildings officials and conservation officers. I am very passionate about my work and always strive to complete a job to the highest standard with no corner cutting not only for the client but also for the building itself as they speak of our past and thus deserve to be preserved. I also work in conjunction with specialist lime plasterers and heritage carpenters which may prove useful to any project you may be considering.

I have worked in the building industry since 1998 for a very reputable building company who are still active today. Since then I have become a multi trade self-employed builder. I completed five new builds including all areas of groundwork, brickwork, plastering, roofing, patios, driveways and basic carpentry. I do use a group of trusted reputable people who are qualified in areas such as electrics and plumbing as works have to be signed off. I’ve also completed works on renovations/extensions.I am familiar with building control and their requirements also structural engineers and their reports/rules and regulations. I am willing to travel within a 40 mile radius depending on my overheads. I currently hold an NVQ level 2 plastering qualification which is my preferred area of work. I have 24 years experience in all areas of the building industry. I am able to provide clients with pictures of work carried out and testimonial statements .Customer care/health and safety comes first. All work is carried out to a very high standard. I respect my clients options on change however, I don’t cut corners and won’t. I respect that some clients live in the property where work is being carried out so respect is paramount at all times.
