Mike uses an excellent father and son team who arrive early, work very hard and do a full day without constant tea and cigarette breaks, which sadly so often seems to be the norm!!They are versatile, covering most aspects of the work, specialists in various areas being brought in where necessary.

Antony Acomb is a very nice guy and talks a good talk, but do not use him for anything other than building a small wall, we had an extension built by Antony Acomb (built! I use that term very losely) it should have taken 10 weeks but after 26 weeks and the work still not finished we had to remove him from our home, everything he had done has had to be redone, apart from the brickwork and that's not great, he didn't even channel out the drainage meaning we had to have a damp proof course and soak away done in a NEW extension, all the plastering has to be done again, the roof needs taking down and redoing, he stuffed plastic bags in gaps and covered with concrete, he didn't level the floor and he didn't even cap off the old drain he just covered it with tiles and then concrete, he didn't remove skirtings before laying the floor, the list is endless, I'm not exaggerating, John Fowler, manager of building control York said it was one of the worse builds he has seen in 30 years, his words were it's so dire, Antony is now trading under AA building and renovation Ltd, he took £15500 Of our hard earned money and then got a solicitor to demand another £3000, so far we have had to pay another £17000 to put it right, clearly this job was too big for him, this will be on going and we won't stop until we get our money back, but we need to warn everyone, tiny job, yes but bigger then stay well clear of Antony Acomb from Acomb maintenance and solutions or AA building and Renovations.

Tom came within days of putting the job out. He quickly remedied what needed to sorted on the bifold doors (something lots of other tradesmen were hesitant to do) and not only fixed them, but brought additional parts needed to ensure we were optimising them in the best possible way. He even resealed the frame to ensure a quality finish. Would 100% recommend!

Craig has recently completed a garage to kitchen extension with an added downstairs toilet and utility room. The whole process has been positive, Craig was confident in his quote and advise but was keen to listen to our ideas and was happy to discuss various options around budget and function etc. Craig's initial quote was agreed and didn't differ, although I appreciate building materials may have increased during completion, which made the whole project manageable and we weren't worried about hidden charges etc. I would highly recommend Craig and he also has great contacts within the industry for electrical, plumbing, roofing and windows / doors to ensure all jobs are completed to standard.

Please avoid, Isaac and his decorator Sam. Told me the job would take 2 weeks to complete, but took them 1 month solely down to the work ethic and productivity. Also demands full payment before the work has been completed. and refuses to complete the work unless he receives full payment for work he has not completed. The agreement was for me to make half the payment after week one (which I did ) and then full payment after all the work has been completed, which Isaac refuses to do and does not answer calls and refuses to return any messages. Also his friend Sam which Isaac took on to do the decoration has done an dreadful job he also demanded full payment before he completed the work. His productivity and standard of work was appalling. I would not recommend these guys to anyone and we'll definitely not use them again. Also be aware these guys trade under different names.
