Rob Workman IS a master craftsman. I know it says so in writing. But now that our extensive rebuild and extensions are complete, we have seen it with our own eyes as our project unfolded. Rob took our falling down, damp, mouldy, unattractive bungalow and gave us back the keys to what more than one visitor has described as a ‘Grand Designs’ and stunning modern home that meets the highest grade of eco builds. As well as working with meticulous care & always remeasuring twice ‘just to make sure’, Rob proved himself to be good at tackling the challenges & curve balls that doing up a house is always going to throw up. Our roof, and two of the walls, proved to be insubstantial to the point of dangerous. Rob worked hard to find a cost-effective solution which met the approval of the building inspector and structural engineers. As well as Rob working on site, he brought Matt and Josh who were the epitome of polite, careful workers whose own professionalism at everything from groundwork, brickwork roofing & much else besides was a pleasure to see. Other contractors who Rob brought in - such as Simon Stadden Windows - produced great quality work to complement that of the main team. We are than pleased with the work done, with the timeliness of the work, with the price, with the tidiness of the team, and above all with the gorgeous, solid house they have left behind for us. We can recommend Rob and his team unconditionally to those looking for builders.

I employed GWBS to undertake some renovation work. The building work was done to a reasonable standard. As extra work I decided on underfloor heating my wows began! I had issues with its installation they ignored manufacturers guidance. The floor was laid on an uneven floor but they had fallen out with the subcontractor and wanted me to chase the works to its completion. I had difficulty getting the work finished. So I refused a final invoice, of £450. Over a 3/4 month period I managed to find someone to finish the flooring.They did the best they could it's uneven in places and the heat isn't uniform. I still needed electrical sign off - I was chased for updates. I asked for them to stop harassing me, we agreed to accept the job as finish they would not contact me again. The subcontractor contacted me - the electrical checks were done. Having promised they wouldn't contact me, they did, asking for payment. I responded to the text, yes (mistake) but blocked their calls. A few months later they appeared at my house, I was at work. I contacted them immediately via email. They threatened me with debt collectors if I didn't pay that day. I offered a good will payment they refused I endured a day of emails, claims of letters said they sent, sighting recorded delivery, of out of context text messages. In fear of debt collectors, feeling under duress and stressed I paid them! I am now considering should I take legal action for distress and harassment.

The works were to remove entirely all the aggressive bamboo rhizomes/roots and growth from a small, confined rear garden area ca 4m x 2m which had encroached from a neighbour, and replace with topsoil. Branden carefully scoped the work on site, and devised a safe working plan/method to reduce/eliminate risk damage could occur to the neighbour's ageing, delicate fence asset, or to the property's sensitive garden facias/walls. The works were carried out over two days on his recommendation to eliminate the risks. Branden always communicated clearly as required with myself and the owner of the property, was price very competitive and good value for money, and Branden and his co-worker worked efficiently and carefully at this awkward job. Priory Building & Construction have recently completed our kitchen extension which was by no means straightforward as it involved complex structural issues necessitated by the existing building. They started promptly on the agreed date and worked steadily and consistently until completion despite unforeseeable problems arising. Particularly impressive were the way in which the project was actively managed and P&BC's willingness to make themselves available for discussion, on or off site, making positive proposals often involving cheaper means of achieving what we wanted. Their tradesmen were considerate and helpful and all contributed to a greatly enlarged and improved kitchen area with which we are delighted and we are pleased to recommend them. We look forward to seeing them again if our future projects come to fruition.

Dave has done a range of carpentry work for us including: removing/installing new staircase in kit form, restoring and refitting sub floor, adding insulation and laying glue down engineered oak flooring, hanging 3 doors, fitting skirting. We are very happy with the quality of his work and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for any carpentry jobs. Neil has not been to the moon, but he has supplied us with some amazing drawings for our extension, he was more than happy to listen to our thoughts and give us lots of options for our extension. The planning application went through in record time and Neil took care of everything for us. He was only slightly more expensive than others we spoke to but his standards are miles above the rest. Our builders have said that they do not need to think about the build as the instruction on our drawings are so easy to follow. Thank you Neil, much appreciated.
