I could not recommend Dale Smith. Whilst he did a reasonable job removing the fitted bedroom furniture, he did not fulfil the brief. He did not make good the walls and ceiling to an acceptable standard. It was less than a days work and I was paying him nearly £800. He fitted all the furniture into his van, ready to take to the tip. When I asked him to return to complete the job, he replied that if I didn’t pay him he would return and leave all the fitted furniture on my door step. I paid him £700 but then had to employ another tradesperson to fill the holes left in the walls and ceiling, so that I could have the room painted.

Original timeline stretched a bit due to his other jobs but this was fine. Mario started work early and finished early which suited us. He came to visit and we agreed a price at the start and he stuck to it even when he realised some additional plumbing would be needed. He was honest about some accidental damage. Attention to detail is good and he has all the kit. I would have given 5 stars- he's a proper professional and I enjoyed working with him. 3 stars only because as soon as the work was done he became incommunicado (I messaged a week later to ask how to lift door which had dropped down a few mm on fridge). The warranty advertised is one of the reasons I went with MGB which was £200 more expensive than contenders so this was disappointing. I would have asked him to do my parents' new kitchen too otherwise.
