Conversions - General- 29 Dec 2021
We struggled to get anyone interested in our refurbishment project originally, Mark answered an ad for a small part of the job and ended up being able to take on the whole thing thankfully. Our project was to completely strip out a 1960's maisonette flat, install internal insulation which involved extensive battening of all the external walls, new plasterboarding & plastering finishes to walls and ceilings, tiling and a completely new bathroom and kitchen install. To complicate things further, as enthusiastic DIY-ers we wanted to do lots of works ourselves as well and few builders would have worked alongside novices as well as Mark did. He was always happy to give advice or take over works when we realised they were beyond our skills or time ;-) Our project was constantly evolving and challenging - as we discovered hidden rotting floor joists and the joys of 60's engineering - door lintels - who needs those?! Mark was always there to help us problem solve and get the job done professionally and to high standards and this was all done throughout the challenging last year of lockdowns etc. Without hesitation we'd recommend Mark and his team. He was always reliable, flexible as the project developed and had excellent attention to detail and we couldn't have completed our project without him. Thank you Mark!

We did a lot of research ahead of our loft build, and spoke to customers of the companies we looked at. We were impressed with Toma and her team from the outset, especially in terms of clarity and communication. We sat down with the project team at the start and walked through the week-by-week plan for our build, then a whatsapp group and weekly meets meant we knew exactly what was happening throughout. Our endless questions were responded to swiftly. Additional optional trade-ups (eg top-hung windows, larger bathroom window etc) were discussed and explained with context, sound advice (and clear pricing where nec) but always still optional. Toma's communication with the teams also seemed strong and continuous, with materials always arriving in time and ahead of when needed, no down-days etc - and importantly, the teams all seemed happy and were just lovely people to have around. I realise with hindsight too that the team's care and workmanship really put them a cut above many others in my area and the project remained on schedule. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ICS for the whole package and in fact we've also chosen to use them again for a kitchen extension.

Solid work from Val (and Adam where required.) We had a lot of damage to walls and ceilings and all was repaired and painted to a high standard. As more jobs were added to the list they were happy to help. Would definitely use again.

***DEFINITELY WORTH READING IF YOU ARE STRONGLY CONSIDERING DONE RIGHT B.S LTD*** To clarify it seems Ross is more like a liaison rather than a builder which means that he outsources your work to professional builders/plumbers etc. and acts as the middle man. I had agreed for Ross to complete my entire home renovation, partly because I work away from London and needed someone that I thought I could rely on to make sure the project would be completed within the given 3 month period. The project initially went smoothly but after the first month, I noticed a change in Ross' attitude and professionalism went out the window. A few things to note, Ross generally struggles to resolve solutions. If there is an issue he will call you and blame you and then demand for more money - it was very annoying. He also has a tendency to go back on his word so I would get everything in writing and TAKE NO CHANCES. I initially agreed that I would pay for this project on a weekly basis, Ross got very comfortable receiving money from me every week but later I realized when visiting my property that the money I had paid had not equated to the work completed, I warned him I would delay a payment and he went mad!! I almost had to take him to court before he agreed to finish the job. Builders used are competent but dealing with Ross is not worth the hassle. Would I use him again? NEVER! His company might be good for small projects but definitely not for large projects!!

All works done by us coming with warranty and insurance.Dear potential client beware that we do not undertake structural building works without architectural drawings, structural engineer calculations etc. No time wasters please!

Professional Polish builders (london) ltd,?this is a suitable name for this company. They built an extension and loft for me in the time standards set. They aren’t a cheap service but the professionalism of this boys goes beyond and above. I’ve seen a lot in my life and it was the third extension I designed for myself as I’m architect. It is hard to find an honest builder who will tell you the truth about what is waiting for you during the works. The job was done relatively quickly even when I changed my mind a few times and the weather this winter was cruel but Adam and Martin were always positive so do not believe any one who gives a fixed price and time - it’s impossible to do. Adam and Martin are fantastic organizers and skillful professional builders, his team are friendly,very funny and hard working guys. Open minded guys who will tell you straight on what things you can save money on and what not to. My dog has fallen in love with them. Safety and common sense is a priority to the crew. I would recommend these boys to everyone. thanks for your help and hard work!

Rude. Standards of the extension were poor. The roof leaked. Gavin was fast to fix it, however it then leaked again. The patio doors didn't close properly. I lost confidence with Gaven so had an additional trades person to rectify the issues at extra expense to myself.

Daniel was professional, knowledgable and accommodating from the first day we met to discuss the job until the last day when he talked me through everything that has been done. I can’t recommend him and his team highly enough. They were attentive to our requirements and requests and did an excellent job of turning a tricky bathroom renovation (which ran for ~4 weeks) into a painless and enjoyable experience. Problems found along the way were raised with or by me and solved quickly and efficiently by the team. The attention to detail and finish of my bathroom fit was excellent and meant the room had the feel of expense and luxury at a pretty reasonable cost. This was a large job that Daniel and his team (Roger must also be highly commended) carried out to a very high standard

George was quick to respond to my ad and was able to come the next day to measure up and finalise the quote. The job ended up being bigger than planned as the bathroom was the original one in the flat and had not been fitted properly. George explained the issues and what was required/price to fix it. I was not living at the flat but I was kept informed throughout, communication was excellent and very professional, and the work was done to a very high standard. George has a range of skills and was able to do all of the building/plumbing/tiling/decorating himself. I'd definitely recommend George!

Keren and team did a fantastic job transforming the three bedrooms in my home to an excellent standard. Originally I was planning on just having the one bedroom done initially, but I chose to go for all three with no regrets. When Keren visited to quote for the job, I felt confident from day one that my requirements and vision were well understood which was so refreshing. From job start through to completion, the team worked very hard. It has been a pleasure, and they achieved exactly what I was after across the three bedrooms. I am very pleased with the quality of work, level of detail, and the professional and positive attitudes from the team. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
