They transformed our unused loft space into a beautiful self-contained studio apartment, including a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen area. Oli carried out the groundworks and demolition at my property and was on site every day with his crew, fully committed and hands-on throughout the job. I am an architect, and this was work on my own home, so my expectations were high. Oli met those expectations fully. He has a strong knowledge of groundworks and demolition, works carefully and methodically, and you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and takes real satisfaction in delivering the work exactly as required. He was always in a good mood, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to have on site. I enjoyed discussing the project and hearing about other jobs he has completed over his 23 years of experience, which clearly shows in the quality of his work. I would highly recommend Oli for any groundworks or demolition works.

Loft Conversion- 22 Aug 2024
From start to finish, we had a wonderful experience with Alin of Smart Builders. He took us a show some of his previous work and we felt confident in giving him the job of our loft conversion and garden gym building. He has a team of hard-working professionals and they made the job go very smoothly and efficiently, from day one. He started his timeline and even though we had small issues along the way which is to be expected he always had a solution or more than one solution for us and was mindful not overspend on our behalf. Honestly, we could not have asked for a Builder and the end result is really beautiful. The team were very friendly and polite and cleaned up behind themselves every single day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alin to anyone who is lucky enough to book him for their job.

We are beyond shocked and disgusted by his awful behaviour. Initially, he acted professional and trustworthy, but he turned out to be exactly the opposite. On the 8th of July, he promised "3-5 working days" instead he pulled us along for two months of unbearable stress and waste of time because he kept on taking other jobs instead of doing ours. He wasted all of July as we had to meet him four times to finalize the design that he kept on rejecting until we agreed on the easiest option for him. He dragged out removing tiles and levelling 10 steps all of August, working 6 hours in total and leaving a job that is so appalling that it needs to be completely redone. He postponed the tiles' order for a month despite assuring us all August that he had done it in July; after numerous complaints, he sent the tiles' invoice, dated 31st of August. He gave us dozens of appointments but never came nor had the decency to cancel, despite dozens of calls, emails and texts, causing significant disruptions and loss to our life and work commitments. We asked him to reimburse the cost of the tiles and materials he didn't provide and for the work he didn't do, but he ignored our emails. We have removed him from the job and are reporting him to the relevant authorities.

Gjon and his son Julian did an amazing job tiling our kitchen floor. They were prompt in communications and completed the job within the agreed time. Left the job clean and tidy after themselves. Will probably hire them again to install a splashback later on in the project.
