  We wouldn’t use or recommend him again. We contacted him about several jobs and asked for rough costs before his visit. He sent quotes in response, including £114 just to diagnose the shower fault. This was in writing and I accept I should have read it more carefully, but I hadn’t appreciated I was committing to this just for diagnosis. We repeatedly said we wanted everything priced before proceeding. Once the pull-cord fault was found, we felt pressured to proceed. We were told we’d owe £114 anyway, another tradesperson would charge to diagnose it again, and a return visit would cost £100 weekday/£200 weekend, despite previously being told of a £50 call-out that would be waived as we’re close by. We paid £214 total. He said the pull cord cost £39.99. When we found it much cheaper online, he then explained they mark up parts. Our issue was that £39.99 had been presented as the part’s cost. No receipt was available when requested. We wanted transparent pricing and honest communication.
