How long does tarmac driveway installation near me typically take?

Most driveway installations take between 2 to 5 days, depending on the size, existing groundwork, and weather conditions. Proper curing time is important for durability.

Will a local company provide a warranty or guarantee on their work?

Professional tarmac companies typically offer a workmanship guarantee that lasts for 5 years or more. This warranty usually covers common issues such as cracking, subsidence, or surface wear and tear. A solid guarantee reflects the company’s confidence in their materials and craftsmanship, providing you with peace of mind that any problems arising from installation defects will be addressed promptly and at no extra cost.

Is it necessary for the tarmac installer to have insurance?

Absolutely! Your chosen installer should have up-to-date public liability insurance to protect both you and their workers. This insurance covers any accidental damage to your property or injuries that occur during the installation process. Hiring an insured company minimizes your risk and ensures you’re not financially liable for unexpected incidents during the project.

What should I expect during the tarmac installation process?

The installation starts with clearing the area of any grass, roots, and debris, followed by excavation to a depth of around 200-250mm to create a stable foundation. A compacted sub-base of crushed stone or hardcore is laid next to ensure stability and drainage. Then the tarmac is applied in two layers, the base course and the top wearing course, each spread evenly and compacted with rollers for a smooth, durable finish. The edges are finished with kerbs or edging stones, and the surface is left to cool and cure for 24-48 hours before use.

We hired Acorn to remove a hedge and install fencing. From start to finish nothing was to much trouble for Benjie, who was helpful, polite and hard working. Suggested ideas but was never pushy. Removed all rubbish including some of our own garden waste. His attention to detail and to make the job right is a credit to him and his helper. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. Thank you for a job well done.

Really pleased with result of total change to garden area including new seating place. Adam was very helpful at all times especially when we changed grass area shape after his advice.
