Paul was polite and answered some of my questions. However, he was not upfront with all his charges and the terms and conditions of his work. He did not complete ALL the work as per our initial agreement and he changed the goal post in regards to the terms of work. Additionally, he charged extra for his materials after he completed the work without prior notice or discussion. After the work was finished and the patio had dried, I noticed that some parts were not done. Overall, the work was not done to my satisfaction, It was shoddy and I will describe him as a cowboy builder.

Ben has done the first of two stages so far, and we have been thoroughly impressed. He came out to look at the job, was confident but realistic and above all honest. It was obvious from the outset that he genuinely knew his stuff. Communication and timekeeping have been great; absolutely faultless service so far. Would highly recommend.

What an amazing find on MyBuilder. Having lost faith in many trades over the years, with individuals and businesses promising the world and not delivering or wanting to add never-ending additional charges, Nicu from Lex Way Service was a total breath of fresh air. From the initial quotation and over a couple of iterations, Nicu gave his advice and costed the project realistically for the work and materials required. He and his team are very conscientious and nothing is too much trouble. We are delighted with the outcome, which included laying 50 sq/m of Indian sandstone (on proper foundations that others have skimped on), laying 2 further smaller patios, edging flower beds and filling with mulch, and then finally repairing an area of block-paved driveway and jet washing the whole large area (200+ sq/m). I would highly recommend Lex Way for landscaping and groundworks. Nicu is super trustworthy and I look forward to having him and his team back for future projects.

Emilian and his colleague were punctual and responsive to messages and calls. We wanted to prevent weeds from growing between the pavers and also level the pavers where they had sunk. Emilian suggested that a better alternative to re-laying the block paving with a weed membrane underneath would be to jetwash, make local repairs where needed, sand and chemically treat the pavers. However, after jetwashing, he found that the areas that needed levelling were too large to be accommodated within his original quote. The quotes we received via MyBuilder for a complete re-lay were too expensive for us unfortunately. On the positive side, we have a clean driveway and Emilian gave us some tips on how to keep it as weed-free as possible. Emilian also repointed our front wall and created beds on the edges of the driveway, which was done well, although it took slightly longer than he originally estimated.
