Cristi-George Dima came over for a quote to renovate my shower room. I warned him an organization is paying for the cost and their paper work may take a while before I finally receive the money. I contacted him to request his bank details, but there was no response. I guessed he wanted cash payment, so I informed the organization who agreed to send me the money for his payment. On phoning to give give him this feedback to encourage him to start the job, there was no response on three occasions. Still another call, and he told me he would come over two days after to start the work. He did not turn up. Yet still, another call, but the line was disconnected, so I left two messages for him on My Builder's website. He has to date, not responded and I have moved on. I am disappointed the way he has treated me. Finally, my advice to him is that, he should stick to agreeements and also feel free to discuss anything that he felt stod in his way, for a proper solution to the problem. Good communication is key to any relationship and he needs to take this on board and all would be well with him. I wish him well, however. Esther

The work done on this project was well below an aceptable standard. The finish was messy, with mortar smeared over large areas of the stonework where it shouldn't have been, several steps and paving stones came loose within a week and there were numerous untidy gaps in the mortar. The two workmen came back on one occasion to fix the first step that came loose. But when other steps and paving stones suffered the same fate, the workmen simply stopped replying to my requests for remdial work and have not been back in touch for a month. Very dissappointing, and very poor value for money. I would not recommend them to anyone.

had decking done and my front fence front fence one of the post was left loose and had a big gap in it and the iron fence was cut with one of the arched left hanging not that good at tidying up left a mess decking thought was good but after looking in more details there no fascia on the end and the last decking board to be laid as a gap along it again left a mess they dumped concrete in my flower beds when i spoke to ian he said he would come around on the sat told him i would be away from 10am he said he would get there for 930am 10am no one arrived so i called ian who said the guys was meant to be there (which they wasn't) he said they will correct the post and fence and take away the concrete ,so i told him to send them back on wed to do the work which he agreed ,at 430pm on the sat (i was away as he knew) they came to finish the work as i could see them on my ring door bell so i thought on wed they would return to remove the concrete which they did not ,so i can not leave a good review as i gave them the option to put things right before i put a review whilst painting the fence post today i can see that the concrete on some of the post on my neighbour side as been mixed in with mud which is wet, would not use them again and the commutation was poor

Came over quoted, we accepted the quote and arranged a start date of 1st April (2 Weeks time). Very disappointed as night before cancelled stating “personal circumstances” and we had floor layers booked two days later so not impressed. Guess this is what happens when you try and give someone with 0 feedback a chance. Shame as seemed a nice guy. We will stick to reputable traders from now on.

I would never hire this amateur tradesman again. He didn't finish the work to my expectations.. . He may be a good carpenter but inexperience. Door frames were scratched due to carelessness. Unit from one wall was shorter than the other wall. Ruined my electrical sockets .. Furthermore he continuously switched on his radio all day long WITHOUT my permission! Always complaining and didn't accept any responsibility when making mistakes. Cheap labour thus tacky/cowboy workmanship. Also there was no business address on the invoices. I was wondering if it is legal for tradesmen to conceal their business address??

Demolition- 17 May 2022
Friday agreed on 550 for concrete slab demolition and removal the next day. Slab turned out to be thicker than expected, and told too heavy for removal. Changed price to 450 without removal to account for extra work because of thickness. Work done well. Checked invoice would be sent on Monday. Document sent that night (Saturday) with no company information, only my name, and the price doubled to 900. Then received dozens of calls and texts Saturday and Sunday urging payment. Refused to pay without invoice, correct amount, and I wanted to check company registration, didn't have a chance to on Monday. Monday evening organiser Pip (Mandip Craig?) and Megal Morris/"Devon" who did the work, arrive on my doorstep, force their way into the door and demand payment. Husband calmed situation and ensured a valid invoice was sent on the spot, payment made by transfer, they left. Very unpleasant.

This chap over promised and under-delivered. We agreed what needed painting and also agreed the price. He then proceeded to paint what I had not asked him to paint, and did not paint what I asked him to paint...!. I had a lot of excuses as to why he could not carryout some of the painting..! . He had informed me he would do it over a Friday, Saturday , Sunday weekend and then turned up half day Friday and then did a few hours on Saturday and then took Sunday off. I would recommend writing down a schedule of works for this chap to follow with a start and end date, which should be signed by him also. I would also get him to confirm that he has not taken on other jobs during the time he is scheduled to carry out the works.

Work was originally scheduled to start 4th June but only began on 26th June as Sutton Ltd were very busy on a number of other, larger projects. The crew who attended were good skilled workmen who worked hard in difficult conditions during the heatwave. New concreted passageway was meant to eliminate rainwater 'pooling' on surface. The first time we had some rain (2 weeks after works finished) it was apparent something was wrong as surface water had not run off as expected. We sent a photo to Paul Sutton (co-owner of Sutton Ltd who had been dealing with us by text & phone after accepting job) but sadly he decided they had finished the job to the agreed specifications and that was an end to it. We had by then paid their bill. We wrote to him once more but no reply. We weren't happy to be 'off-loaded' in this way by Paul Sutton because he reckoned the job was done properly. He was never here during the work nor did he come to inspect it when finished. Later, he informed us that one of the 2 men working here on the last day was in fact his younger brother, Phillip Sutton, so it must have been Phil who 'signed off' on the job, but we had no idea. P.S. We've since had another company here to rectify the problem. They highlighted a glaring fault. Using a spirit level they found half the new surface was sloped backwards, so rainwater couldn't run off as intended. Have learned the hard way but at nearly 80 we're not taking matters further. Problem now sorted!
