We hired Dragos last October to install 50m2 of laminate herringbone. After completing we noticed floor squeaks in many areas. We pointed this out, D told us it is “normal” and floor would settle over time – which it hasn’t. D laid floor in 2 days and was paid. 5m2 were left unfinished as we ran out of panels. We had to order more. Once the panels arrived we contacted D but he said he couldn’t come because he had taken another job and he will contact us asap. It was our fault so we were ok with that and waited. This repeated for the following weeks and communication was poor. We could not wait longer. My husband has decided he will try to finish remaining area himself. After he had finished, D contacted us but job was already done. Area made bymyhusband does not squeak unlike part installed by D. This strongly suggest squeaking is due to D installation method. I sent D three messages asking him to inspect the problem. He ignored every single one. We are now considering legal action.
