Taras did an excellent job on our bathroom. He has a real eye for detail and as a novice to renovating he was patient and helped me enormously with he process. He also built some practical yet beautiful cabinets for our washer/dryer/cleaning supplies. Most importantly for us, he understood that we were on a time line with a baby due so he stayed late and worked weekends to ensure he didn't overrun. We're so happy with Taras work and will definitely be hiring him again.

Arek was always the first one on site, worked very professionally, interacted well with the other builders and was happy to accommodate minor changes to the project. What started as a simple cosmetic job quickly turned out be to much more complex and time consuming (floors and ceilings replaced, walls being taken back to brick, boiler replaced etc) Andrian was with us at every step of the way, patiently problem solving and making use of years of experience. If you are looking for a caring and conscientious builder then look no further than Stephen. Not only is he on your side for your project and budget, he gets the job done with absolute attention to detail. He works incredibly hard and is not satisfied till you, the client, are happy. He has a photographic, encyclopaedic memory for all things building and structural. He, with his extensive experience, is worth more on your project than any architect plans or drawings. Not only is he damned good at what he does, he’s polite and thorough. He also has a fantastic team that he keeps a close eye on at all times. There are no loud radios or requests for coffee. His team have a fixed break/lunch, bring their own supplies and I’m embarrassed to admit, leave your house tidier and cleaner than when they arrived - even when doing excavation/structural work! I offer only one word of caution, once Stephen and team are in, you won’t want them to leave, and you will start asking him to do all those other building jobs you never knew you wanted done! You will be very fortunate if you can secure him for your project. You can complete confidence in him, his team and their work.

Despite some initial positives, the project was ultimately marred by poor communication, unprofessional conduct & serious breaches of trust. We strongly advise against using Bluelime due to the stress, financial impact, & unresolved issues we faced. While kitchen & bathroom installations were OK & progressed quickly, Bluelime deviated from approved plans in a conservation area, causing compliance issues (estimated correction costs of £15–£20k). Heating & insulation were poorly installed, & second opinions confirmed our dissatisfaction. Communication broke down, with responses defensive and intimidating. Costs rose unexpectedly (e.g. door fitting from £1200 to £2640) & inflated quotes in later stages. The property wasn’t ready for move-in multiple times, disrupting our young family. Additional concerns included missing tools, ignored warranties, inconsistent workmanship & misleading claims about affiliations. We urge others to check Bluelime (Alton Campbell) on Companies House.

We chose SWLBC to refurbish a two-bedroom flat. This entailed complete redecoration, replacement of the flooring with a new engineered wood floor, moving old and installing new electrical sockets and light switches, running some new piping and replacing the heating system with a more modern and efficient one. The quote from SWLBC was very competitive and we are really happy with the quality of the work. The flat is transformed and it looks terrific.
