  Brett had great communication from the start, and after agreeing the details and paying a deposit, I was told the fireplace would project 500mm. Based on this, I agreed to proceed. However, on the day of the work, after the skirting boards had already been cut, the installers advised that due to building regulations it would actually need to project 900mm. Brett later said it could be reduced to 650mm if I signed a disclaimer, which I refused to do as I would not compromise on safety. Had I been given the correct measurements from the start, I would not have gone ahead. Although I received a partial refund, money was withheld for his lost cost, leaving me out of pocket and needing to replace the damaged skirting boards at my own cost.
