I'm Tom, the person behind Furze & Fix — a local handyman service based in Furzedown, South London. I've been hands-on with DIY and home improvement projects since studying Design & Technology at school, and over the years that's grown into a genuine passion for building and fixing things properly. I've increasingly been taking on professional work and am now looking to offer my services more widely. I offer a range of general handyman services but my particular strength is joinery — things like decking, shelving, and general woodwork, where I take pride in getting the details right. I'm also happy to help with furniture assembly and general home fixes. By trade I'm a chartered engineer with a mechanical engineering degree, so accuracy, proper planning, and doing a job to a high standard aren't optional extras for me — they're second nature. I don't currently take on electrical or plumbing work, but for anything in the carpentry, assembly, or general handyman space, I'd love to help. I'm continuing to build a reputation job by job, so you can expect care, reliability, and a tidy finish every time. I'm new to the mybuilder platform so don't have any reviews here as yet, but references from previous jobs available on request.

I am well trained and very experienced. I years of flooring knowledge and would be confident too say I know the trade inside and out. I left school at a young age to work with my uncle who is also a flooring specialist and is the man who taught me all I know.
