Overall flooring is well laid. However the laminate in the old kitchen area which is concrete slightly dips. Self levelling compound was used in the area where the wall was taken down so the compound could have beem extended or plywood put underneath to alleviate any dips. A long spirit level would have picked up the need to put self levelling compound in areas where necessary. Its a small area in the overall flooring but its a high traffic area and over time it may be affected. I communicated with the fitter that I wanted the flooring levelled so I would expect all areas to be level. The flooring was complicated in a small area so it should have been at least two persons doing the installation. I used a well known company for another room which is smaller and they had 3 persons doing the flooring which is better for the fitter and customer.

Do not use this guy. He fudged the job in many ways, this morning I discovered that he had not even laid flooring up flush with existing skirting under a radiator he had forgotten to tell me about. He says he cannot put skirting up flush to the radiator. To be honest the decorators I have in now will correct this for me, without their help I would have ugly gaps in the flooring showing and radiator pipes exposed. He was to replace the skirting throughout where he laid the floor and he was to have laid the floor so that all at the same level. He didn't, again the decorator pointed out that at one point between the hallway and an adjoining room repeated walking on it will eventually mean that the click clack flooring he recommended will break, so essentially click crack. Also the flooring has inconsistent lacquering, with patches of shiny over lacquered areas that spoil the overall appearance. The job he did was supposed to cost in the region of £2.5k but once he found some underfloor issues he hadn't allowed for this became over £4k. including the cost of a skip he had also forgotten to mention as he doesn't take away any existing debris. It was a nightmare experience. Do yourself a favour do not use, and look out for him on other sites.
