Carpentry- 16 Apr 2023
I cannot believe the terrible job that was done. The doors are all unevenly cut, the locks not fitted correctly or gaps, the doors looked better before the job. The hinges look messily attached. Some handles gaps and not fitted flush. I’ve documented it all. Scratched walls, damaged chunk out of celling ( admitted to that have it in writing) scratched wooden floors. Asked for half the money before they started as presume they have customers that don’t pay them, I’m not surprised. I paid them as I was away and they took a video, not showing me the shoddy work up close, and I got home and was shocked. Harry just said he was pleased with the work and didn’t give a hoot. Quite aggressive actually and very cocky.I’ve lost 2 k and now I have to get them All redone. My only option now is court. I would not recommend them to anybody, total and utter crap, what a waste of time. I’ve had three other carpenters/ builders who have looked in one day and all of them said terrible and have to be redone. Hinges not deep enough so door wonky. Or door cut badly so wonky. There is literally light coming into bathroom from my bedroom because the door is cut that badly. Just sloppy bad workmanship. I can’t believe I’ve had this experience and Harry was so rude and arrogant. If anyone wants to see photos or videos I’m happy to share. I will contact the site and now, get a lawyer and also get someone else to fix the whole thing. But yes my advice would be stay well well away!!!!!

Restoration & Refurbishment- 19 Apr 2026
Didn’t return to finish the job, respond to calls or messages in response to finishing the job. Sadly wouldn’t hire Ovi & Mihai (O&C) again. Friendly & responsive initially. Worked well, on time, eager to please, did a good job - not perfect but adequate, average attention to detail but corrected when asked. We initially had a faux chimney put in, they touted for more work & provided alcove shelving/cabinet ideas which we subsequently hired them for. They worked intermittently (dad around for first half of job then left for Romania) as this was agreed as best for both parties. However they left the job incomplete once paid (were paid on time, each time, with no bargaining). Didn’t respond to texts or calls, leaving cabinet doors unfinished, large chips & cracks unfilled. Laminate was also poorly cut around hearth stone, left chimney cutout unfinished with no cement to the base. Lack of respect and wouldn’t hire again as cannot trust they won’t disappear. Note previous reviews.

I would highly recommend Matthew. He was able to prioritise my job, to fit flooring in my kitchen living area, and came to do the work at short notice. He has done a fantastic job so far and it is yet to be completed. Matthew is very thorough and meticulous in his work. I have high expectations and he is just as much of a perfectionist as I am. What practical training or hands-on experience do you have in floor fitting?

Many Norwood floor fitters complete apprenticeships or training courses such as NVQ Level 2 in Floorcovering Occupations. This involves on-site assessment and practical work covering carpet, vinyl, wood, or laminate flooring installations.

How do you prepare the floor surface before fitting?

A local Norwood floor fitter should explain how they assess and prepare the subfloor, removing old coverings, cleaning and levelling the surface, and addressing any issues to ensure a smooth, long-lasting flooring installation in your Norwood property.

Can you share examples of previous floor fitting jobs you’ve done in Norwood?

Hearing about local work helps you understand a prospective Norwood floor fitter’s familiarity with different floor types and challenges common in the area, such as moisture control or uneven flooring. Take a look at their MyBuilder profile, as they may have images of their previous works on there.

Will you provide a clear, detailed quote for materials, labour, and any additional costs?

A transparent quote allows you to know exactly what you’re paying for. It’s also useful to ask how a floor fitter in Norwood will account for any unexpected costs if any issues arise once the work is underway.

How long will floor fitting tasks take when carried out by a floor fitter in Norwood?
