Hi, I started my professional life back in the 80's as a vehicle builder, making trains in York City. I moved onto 1st fix joinery and then building conservatories. I now work on film sets on the design team making anything from dog sleds to fake sat nav phones for the stunt team. I have spent the last 2 years modifying a house in Hove including fitting radiators, painting, tongue and grooving a wall, tiling a shower, fitting a stand alone shower screen, custom building a wall diner seat. hanging heavy pictures and tv's and re routing pipe work into the wall. and cutting out a cat shaped hole in privacy glass so that cat can still see out.

I really don’t know where to start. I contacted Alfie to hang 4 doors. The previous carpenter had taken a whole evening to put in one door and that door was not aligned. Shoddy workmanship. These doors are seriously heavy. Alfie had to bring them up a flight of stairs several times to make sure they fitted. His work ethic is beyond anything I have ever experienced. I have had my house totally renovated and I have had tradesmen come and go but his standards are by far the highest. His eye for detail is superb and his knowledge is truly impressive. He has many years of experience and speaks with confidence and this is really reassuring if you are a layperson. He can do many other aspects of home improvement as well. If you are looking for a carpenter whose standards are above and beyond the general standard then look no further. As far as value for money he could charge a lot more because of his skill set but it was affordable. Truly a gem.
