  • ** Please only short list me if you're happy for work to be carried out at the weekends ** I am a certified joiner of over 15 years. I've worked in all forms of joinery on construction sites, building homes. I work full-time monday-friday. I am looking for weekend work: fitting doors, trim, skirting mouldings, and other smaller jobs. * Further discount on prices below may be considered on full house fitting (doors & skirting) * Updated pricelist (22/05/2025): Price per: 1 door a) Hollow door: £55 b) Solid softwood: £70 B.i) Solid softwood with glass £80 c) Solid hardwood: £80 C.i) Solid hardwood with glass £90 d) Internal fire door to meet fire regulations: £300-£600. With new frame (+ £150-£300). Depending on the size and weight of the door, if it is a two man job the price is doubled. e) Internal domestic fire door no fire strips, margins, door closers: £150-300. f) External hardwood door: £800 ..... Frames and linings. g) Existing door-lining/ frame adjustment: £25-£50 h) New door-lining/ frame fitting: i) Internal door lining £60 ii) External door frame £300 iii) Fire rated frame £150-300 iv) Install new fire-rated frame to an existing firedoor £300 i) Dispose of old doors: (towards the cost of recycle centre fees: £8.00 each door £2.00 each door lining/ frame per single door. j) Skirting board and architrave fitting: £4-6 per meter My guarantee: Customer satisfaction. I will touch up any of my work that requires it. For example, new doors are kept bone dry in the warehouse and may swell when fitted into their new home due to the natural humidity in the air, this can cause issues with opening & closing the door within 2 weeks of fitting. This is a natural occurrence and not an error in the fitting. I would simply re-adjust the frame/ or the door once it has tuned to its new climate. There is no additional charge for this adjustment.

What to ask a Washington wardrobe fitter before hiring?

Before hiring a fitted wardrobe specialist in Washington, you should ask some simple questions to make sure they’re the right choice for your project:

What types of wardrobes have you designed or installed before?

Ask whether the wardrobe fitter in Washington has worked on built-in, sliding-door, or walk-in wardrobes, and if they can customise fittings for unusual layouts or alcoves.

The fitters should have examples of previous projects on MyBuilder or share photos that match your style and space.

Do you offer a design and measurement service?

Wardrobe fitters in Washington should visit your home to assess the space, take measurements, and suggest layout options before installation.

This can help to make sure your wardrobe fits perfectly, especially in older properties with uneven walls or floors.

What materials and finishes do you recommend for my fitted wardrobe?

Find out about the range of finishes available, such as MDF, mirrored doors, solid wood, or high-gloss panels. A professional fitter can help you balance aesthetics, durability, and cost depending on your budget.

What qualifications or memberships do you hold?

Look for wardrobe fitting professionals in Washington with relevant certifications or trade memberships, such as NVQs in carpentry and joinery, or membership with the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID).

If you’re still unsure about whether a wardrobe fitter is the right choice for you, then read this [hiring guide] with more detail on the qualifications you should look for.
