Diego came to my house to install coving and skirting boards. He was in for 2.5 days – it felt like a 3 week nightmare. Diego doesn’t use dust sheets, or lay down mats on the floor – and he doesn’t cut the wood outside so your house isn’t absolutely covered in sawdust. By the end of the 2.5 days my house was an absolute mess – caulk and filler smeared all over my slate floors, walls and even front door – and sawdust everywhere – that lovely mixture then had water added to it when Diego decided he would put back my radiators (I told him I would do it) and broke a valve thus flooding my living room. Fortunately nothing is Diego’s fault – the valve broke because it was “wobbly” (it was 3 months old – it was not “wobbly”). And the reason he didn’t put dust sheets or mats down is because he thought he was only doing the coving (ah so the mess from that is fine), and the reason the skirting board sits 5cm (not an exaggeration) from the wall is because the house has funny angles (Diego has no way of measuring the angles because he’s missing half the tools he needs to do the job – he borrowed my electric screwdriver, drill, sandpaper, screws, ladder, rawplugs etc – and has no workbench so was cutting everything on floor). And finally when attempting to tidy the mess at the end of his work – he decided the smart way to get the smeared filler and caulk off my lovely black slate floor would be to sand it. I’m now having to find someone to fix the scratches all over my floor.

They knew exactly what to do when I sent them the requirements regarding the replacement of my door. Due to the Grenfell legislation, I was obligated by the maintenance company of my flat to change my front door to an FD30. Lauris built an extra large media wall and L-shaped sideboard unit. It was a complex build due to its size and design. He had to copy an existing design and it incorporated a lot of lighting. The job took a little longer than expected but was completed to a high standard and he returned to complete some minor snagging. He was amenable and kept the place tidy.
