She helped me through decisions when I was unsure, brought a world of samples so I could find exactly the right shade, and worked with me to make the design fit my budget without compromising on the end result. Throughout the project they were incredibly communicative, helpful, and understanding. The final result is beautiful — honestly beyond what I could have expected. I’m still in awe of it and find myself just sitting and admiring it, especially when the light hits it just right. Starting from just an inspiration photo, a design idea, and some rough sketches, they brought my little dream to life to a really high standard. The plan was for him to assist for just a few weeks, but from day one it became clear that he was exceptional at what he does. He was reliable, hardworking, highly skilled, and always polite and professional. As the project progressed, I ended up keeping him on for the entire duration of the build—around seven months. During that time he worked alongside various contractors, carpenters, roofers, and other trades, consistently proving himself to be one of the most dependable people on site. Jobs completed: rip out bathroom floorboards and replace; fit luxury vinyl flooring; fit skirting, fit solid wood door; custom fit bath end stud for tiling; cut and resize L shaped bath panel and fit support stud. Shem did a really solid job for me. He arrived on time, got straight to work, and clearly knew what he was doing. He worked quickly but without cutting corners, and his attention to detail was better than I expected. The cabinet he built looks genuinely great, definitely stronger and nicer than many ready-made pieces I looked at online. He also gave a few practical suggestions. Communication was easy, and he checked in with me a couple of times to make sure everything was how I wanted it. He kept the workspace tidy and was respectful of the house, which I appreciated. He just got on with the job and delivered good quality work. Overall, I’m very happy with the outcome and would use him again for future projects. I’d recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable handyman.
