Andrew built a media wall in our living room, including a faux chimney breast, floor-to-ceiling shelving and fitted cabinets. He also extended existing wall panelling in our converted garage where built-in units had previously been removed. The main carpentry work was good and the media wall was built as we had hoped. It feels solid, sturdy and well constructed. However, I was disappointed with the finishing work, particularly in the garage. Part of the agreement was to make the walls ready for decoration after the removal of units and electrical work, but the filling was rough, some filler came loose, and many areas had not been properly sanded. There were also noticeable gaps around the panelling and skirting, which remained untidy even after a return visit. The project was also not left particularly clean, with a significant amount of sawdust and debris remaining, especially in the garage. Overall, good construction work, but the finishing and details fell below expectations.

David Rose Carpentry hung 7 internal doors for me. David was very flexible when I had to push back the work due to a delay in the doors being supplied. He then fitted me in as soon as he could. His communications were clear and the price fair. Karl and Reuben did the work on site and they were a pleasure to have around. They were punctual, friendly and importantly for me, made sure they understood what I wanted regarding handle positions etc. The doors fitted beautifully. A few of the doors swelled, but Karl came and quickly sorted that out and we've had no problems with doors since. We are very pleased and impressed with their price, quality of workmanship and attention to detail.

Andy done a fantastic job installing 9 internal oak doors, was clean and tidy and left the house spotless.. He also came back to design and install an awkward shape door for the cupboard under the stairs which matched all the others perfectly, we are really pleased and they make the whole house look so much better. He quoted for the work and didn’t go over budget which was great, very good price and work done to a high standard. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and would definitely use him again when the need arises.
