To be fair, five stars doesn’t do justice to John’s work. I wanted to replace all my internal doors (14 in total) and went looking for a suitable joiner. John came out to the house to scope the work and spent an hour discussing the options and intricacies of the job. It was clear from the outset that he paid attention to detail and after some deliberation over other quotes I opted to go with JK Joinery. John (supported by Jock, his father) spent a full week ensuring that the job was completed to the highest spec possible. His understanding of the task facing him and his desire to achieve an outcome as close to perfection as possible was outstanding. I would describe him as a craftsman and not simply a joiner. He and his father respected my home throughout and ensured it was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. I now have a house which has been enhanced by the quality of the service that John provided. I would have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend him to anyone. 5 stars +.

Jay put on new skirting and facings but they look worse than what we had taken off. He was at my house from 19:20 till 22:45 working on this job. He brought skirting for the facing and had to keep cutting bits off, they are not cut straight. Skirting joins are not level, they are an absolute mess and left atleast 10 nails sticking out all around skirting and facings. I tried pointing this out to him but is answer is its painters job to sand down and fill. This is true when they are installed correctly. I went to a lot of expense with this room having just had all the walls plastered and put a new ceiling in so i find this even more sole destroying that a qualified joiner can carry out a fairly basic job so badly that makes the room look bad. Jay doesn't listen to what you are trying to tell him about the mistakes. I definetly would not hire him again and i would not recomend him to anyone.

Great service from Ben in every aspect, came out the same day to look over the job and examined what was needed. Explained the materials he would need to order and exactly what they were for in order to complete the repairs, and arrived to do the work an hour after these were delivered from the timber yard. Work was completed to an exceptionally high standard, and even though it was an evening job that took a little longer than he anticipated due to a couple of unforseen difficulties, he was more than happy to stay until it was complete rather than leaving anything unfinished and having to return next day. As a property developer I will absolutely be hiring Ben again as and when a reliable joiner is needed, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.
