I'm a self employed cabinet maker/joiner and site carpenter. I started at 17 in a workshop in Essex then moved to London in 1986 and worked for Jo Dixon joinery. In that era I worked on several architectural jobs with Kevin McCloud, made a pair of colonial chairs for Jeffrey Archer, a kitchen for Timothy Dalton, and an 11 meter veneered dining table for Mme Schulmberger in Paris, Part of a major £3m refurbishment to her apartment. I now work at my home based workshop in Shoreham.

My name is James Mitchell, I live in Ardingly with my wife and young daughter and have my own cabinet making workshop in Ringmer, Lewes. As a sole trader I can offer a personal experience where I am the designer, maker and installer of your furniture. I have 15 years experience working across all aspects of carpentry and cabinet making. I specialise in painted or wooden fitted furniture including wardrobes, kitchens, bookcases and alcove cabinetry. Mainly working with veneered boards, plywoods, MDF and solid timber to make both modern style furniture and more traditional cabinets depending on your tastes and existing home decor.
