I have developed practical trade skills through more than nine years of experience in joinery, carpentry, furniture manufacturing and interior fitting, alongside approximately three years of painting, decorating and finishing work. My Nigerian Trade Test qualification and hands-on experience have strengthened my ability to use tools safely, prepare surfaces, carry out finishing work, identify defects and complete tasks to a good standard. I understand the importance of working at height safely, including assessing risks, using suitable access equipment and following established safety procedures. I also recognise the additional precautions required when working in confined spaces, where hazards must be assessed and appropriate controls and authorisation put in place. I understand that first aid knowledge is important for responding appropriately to workplace incidents and emergencies. Although, I am continuing to develop my professional qualifications, I am willing to undertake the relevant training in working at height, confined-space safety and first aid required by the Trust. I would follow all risk assessments, safe systems of work and instructions, and would not undertake tasks requiring specialist training or authorisation
