I am currently a sub contractor to fire protection companies specialising in fire door installation and remedial/upgrade works. Over the last 7 years I have obtained a vast amount of experience within the fire door industry and a wealth of knowledge working for some prestigious and large fire protection companies. Most people don’t realise that the fire door they’ve had installed has been voided by the carpenter due to a lack of knowledge regarding the spec and tolerance of different door manufacturer's. Originally I started out as a carpenter working on domestic building sites and put my hand to tiling, painting and decorating and helping out with all trades. I’ve always enjoyed hanging doors and eventually ran with it full time. Over the last 7 years 95% of the work I’ve done has been fire door & frame installations (commercially & domestically) and the other 5% has been what I call “standard” door and frame installation work (domestically) I take great pride in my work and provide my customers and companies I work for the best possible service and workmanship. I like to sleep well at night knowing my fire door installs are compliant. I now have settled in with just one company installing their fire doors and frames and looking to branch out a little and source my own work weather that be fire doors, fire door frames, standard doors and frames. I can supply fire doors and frames and the manufacturer I use also supply full certification upon completion for your records and each certificate is unique to that specific door, as the doors are coded to match the certificate. Completed my city and guilds in June 1982 and worked on many projects in all walks of the trade, from building windows in a joinery to hanging 8 foot solid oak doors in office blocks to roofs, housing sites, kitchens and managing refurbishments projects from start to finish.
