I agreed to hire Danial and Ryan on a daily rate to complete some partition work and fit a few door frames and doors at my hotel. After the first day and after having completed 14 hours of work between them only 1.8m worth of partitions had been completed and one door frame fitted. I talked to both joiners about the pace of their work and they insisted the work was very complicated. I said I could have worked faster myself. The next day, I said I wasn't happy with the speed of their work and if their pace doesn't accelerate I'd be asking them to leave. Again by the end of the day two door frames were fitted and three doors hung, without handles. I did ask them to leave! Before I decided to opt for Eminent joinery Danial told me one of their jobs had fallen through and they had a full week without work. I think they decided at that point they wanted to spend all week on my premises and expected me to pay their daily rates whilst they spent the day chatting. Overall the quality of their work was average but their work ethics and honesty appalling. After talking to Danial we agreed I only pay them half I.e. only for one days worth of work. When I told Danial that I will also be reviewing his work on my builder he said he will write a negative review for my business although he's never stayed at my hotel but he wanted to do so to spite me. I wouldnt use Eminent joinery again and i definitely wouldn't recommend anyone else take them on, on a daily rate.

Bathroom Fitting- 30 Jan 2026
Works carried out reasonably timely manner and with due respect. Bath tub replacement seemed okay - tile work fine, panel installed. Unfortunately water kept leaking down after bath usage. Atlas came back from rechecking, identified issues around electric shower, sealed it, didn;t mention additional cost of this visit in advance but later requested payment for the visit - didnt provide an invoice or requested a specific amount for visit and when contested that no price of visit was mentioned or agreed and assumed as post work visit, did not ask again. Unfortuantely, this doesn't resolve the issue. Water is still leaking down when bath is used, even after eliminating the electric shower completely. New plumber claims the drain pipe is leaking and fitting wasn't correct. I've forwarded this info to Atlas - no response from them yet. New plumber now scheduled. Will report back the cause of leak once found if it is related to fitting or not. Thanks.

Complete cowboy and to be avoided at all costs. See pics of the disgraceful state he and his colleague Hamish from HK Joinery left what should have been a simple job. Quoted two days labour then did it in one day so earned double their money. Asked him to come back and finish it off properly but his response was to say he’d let me have a quote. A very slippery character, be very careful if dealing with this guy. His work is awful and not to a standard I’m happy to accept.

Gareth has done a fantastic job fitting shelves into an alcove. Extremely polite, punctual, and kept us in the loop throughout the Covid in terms of when he would be available to do the job. Cleaned up afterwards, and returned the next day to complete the job when we requested some additional features. Price was very reasonable and very good value given the top quality of the work. I would highly recommend Gareth for similar jobs.

Decking and shed to be painted. Charged 25 pounds per hour. Came on an overcast day and proceeded to paint in the rain!!! I know this as asked my neighbour for a bucket, whom I add, questioned why paint in rain? He took 2 hours to do a job which was rushed. Unfortunately I cant upload the proof of this in my pictures. I also questioned painting in rain. Next day all that was left was a mess of where the paint had been washed away. He said would come back on a clear day but I dont want a slap-dash amateur again. Asked for refund and told he would drop it off when passing. So is that in this century I asked I got no response. Asked for BACS payment, he said he doesn't have facility, so for the 50 pounds I paid there is no record, he never gave receipt. A legitimate business? I'm still waiting for my money or response to when I will get it. I've contacted mybuilder.com for advice and to report which I've told him about. His business is in security and investigation so i'd question the last review and picture of his apparent skilled carpentry work. Any tradesman with an ounce of integrity and conscience would have stopped painting, not taken money and come back on a dry day. A lady of mature years has truly been left upset and stressed by this whole unprofessional experience and feels totally swindled even though I have tried to be amicable. Up to you to make a decision but I'd seriously take a wide birth, my nephew of 15 could have done a better unskilled paint job.

The chap came as promised and gave a quote which was agreed. He gave a date of Monday 31st May. We texted him reminding him this was a Bank Holiday Monday, and was he sure it would be ok. He said "yes, no problem - you're booked in." Heard nothing more until 8pm on the night before the Monday. We texted him asking what time he would be coming. He replied that it would have to be Tuesday because the suppliers were closed for the Bank Holiday! Left high & dry at last minute after making all arrangements to be home and doing prep work. We went to someone else. Totally NOT revommended.
