Thumb Designs Limited was founded by Tom Back, carpenter and furniture designer with over 20 years experience. Tom worked as a joiner and a set carpenter for TV and film, before gaining a degree in Product and Furniture Design from Kingston University. All project aspects are carried out in house, from initial designs, technical design, production and installation. The process starts with an initial consultation, followed by designs, then technical designs showing all the details and sizes before the furniture is built in the South London studio before being installed in its final location.

We started trading in 1982. 37 years ago we started as face lift kitchens, bedrooms & bathrooms and progressed to complete bespoke design hand made furniture, made from the raw materials, everything was made and kept in house so we had full control.
