Shane was helpful,positive and extremely competent. The pre job discussions were by email to which his reply’s were quick and efficient. He turned up on the day of the job at the time he said he would, he was clean tidy and very polite, with a friendly demeanour. All in all a very nice chap who was as good as his profile suggested, on what was a very tricky job. We hired Phil to make and fit two built-in shelving units within chimney alcoves in a living room and a built-in wardrobe in a loft conversion bedroom within a sloping ceiling. Firstly, Phil is such a nice guy, he was great to work with designing the project and at all times we met with him. All cupboards were custom built on site and completed way ahead of schedule. The quality of his work was brilliant and is a real focal point of both rooms now. Cannot recommend him enough!

Waldemar and team were very tidy and communicative builders who will do the job at a high standard, for a good price and are committed to meeting their realistic deadlines. I had a difficult ask of the team as had ordered most components prior to their quote but they worked around me, the items I had ordered and worked well to achieve a complex and specific design. They were reliable and dedicated to getting the job done in good time and to a high standard. They were attentive and considerate regarding specific design requirements but I would recommend the best way to handle this with them is to provide a detailed plan with measurements as communication is harder when not face to face. That being said, if they were unsure of any detail they were extremely good at being in touch to clarify exactly what you'd like done. Highly recommended!

Adam Favor and NOVA Design & Build are a nice bunch of guys and they are reliable/helpful. However, when it came to coving, architrave and flooring, acceptable standards were unfortunately not met. Other specialists had to be brought in to re-do around 20% of the job; namely certain sections of the cornice and door architrave. In the former, a few things were below standard including: 1) not joining the friezes in the correct places, 2) cutting inaccurately, 3) leaving gaps, 4) using silicon as a filler and adhesive. For the door architrave, the wood was misaligned and not glued/nailed properly. The flooring was not laid well because there are huge gaps at times; sometimes at 1 cm. Since the kitchen has been installed, it is too late to take up the floorboards again. The most dubious thing of all in this job was the quote received for decorating which was c. 15k for 47 m2. This included plastering repairs, but ultimately the job got done by someone else to a high standard at 7k.

Highly recommend Kaylum, he ripped out the old sub-floor and fitted a new sub-floor along with new Engineered wood flooring in all of the bedrooms and hallway. Quality of work and attention to detail was exceptional. His colleague then decorated all the rooms beautifully once the floor was installed - really happy with the end result.
