Do bricklayers in Kent handle foundations or just the brickwork?

Many bricklaying contractors in Kent can lay small foundations for garden walls or garages, but larger structural work may require coordination with a builder or groundworker. Always clarify the scope before the project begins.

Do bricklayers in Kent supply the materials, or do I need to buy them myself?

Most bricklayers in Kent will supply the materials as part of their quote, including bricks, mortar, sand, and cement. However, if you want to use specific materials (for example, reclaimed or decorative bricks), you can discuss sourcing them yourself. Always clarify who is responsible for ordering and delivery before work begins.

Can bricklayers in Kent work during winter?

Bricklaying can be done in winter, but cold or wet weather can affect mortar curing. Most bricklaying firms in Kent follow weather-dependent schedules or use protective covers and additives to ensure proper setting. Expect possible delays during freezing or very wet conditions.

Can bricklayers in Kent lay blocks or stone as well?

Yes, most Kent bricklayers will also be trained to work with concrete blocks, stone, and breeze blocks. This versatility is useful for projects like garden walls, garages, and outbuildings that use mixed materials.

What should I include in a bricklaying contract when hiring a bricklayer in Kent?

A contract should outline: - The scope of work - Timeline and payment schedule - Materials and specifications - Insurance and warranties - Cleanup and waste removal responsibilities Having everything in writing helps prevent misunderstandings and protects both you and the contractor.

Lee of LC Builders did a fantastic job from start to finish. He not only did a great job on my building job, he also helped with a structural survey and with paperwork. He could not have been more helpful. His work and efforts have helped us in the selling of our house; without Lee's work and help we would not have got the job done. I would recommend Lee and his team without hesitation.

We are really pleased with the work. Very friendly team and nothing was too much trouble. Terry and Dave even came back on a Sunday to finish off some block work, which we are very grateful for! Many thanks for all your hard work. We would, without a doubt, recommend these guys for extension work and would not hesitate to contact them in the future if we need any other building work completed. Thank you from Lisa & Graham

I recently hired Ronnie to rebuild a new pillar including digging new footings with new internal steelwork. Ronnie done an excellent job matching in to existing brickwork and all work was carried out to a very high standard. Nothing was too much trouble and all materials itemised in a clear and honest precise way so there was never any doubts of cost etc. Ronnie is an excellent and very honest builder something that is quite rare nowadays and would not hesitate to hire him again.

We had a quick response to our posting, and shortlisted Huw along with another builder. We went with Huw and the job was completed on time and to a good quality. We had a new front step built and some repairs to some crumbling bricks. I was a little disappointed that a certain type of brick we needed for the repair work was unavailable, however Huw found a work around and the job was completed. I would not hesitate to recommend Huw to undertake any brickwork.
