Do bricklayers in Goole handle foundations or just the brickwork?

Many bricklaying contractors in Goole can lay small foundations for garden walls or garages, but larger structural work may require coordination with a builder or groundworker. Always clarify the scope before the project begins.

Do bricklayers in Goole supply the materials, or do I need to buy them myself?

Most bricklayers in Goole will supply the materials as part of their quote, including bricks, mortar, sand, and cement. However, if you want to use specific materials (for example, reclaimed or decorative bricks), you can discuss sourcing them yourself. Always clarify who is responsible for ordering and delivery before work begins.

Can bricklayers in Goole work during winter?

Bricklaying can be done in winter, but cold or wet weather can affect mortar curing. Most bricklaying firms in Goole follow weather-dependent schedules or use protective covers and additives to ensure proper setting. Expect possible delays during freezing or very wet conditions.

Can bricklayers in Goole lay blocks or stone as well?

Yes, most Goole bricklayers will also be trained to work with concrete blocks, stone, and breeze blocks. This versatility is useful for projects like garden walls, garages, and outbuildings that use mixed materials.

What should I include in a bricklaying contract when hiring a bricklayer in Goole?

A contract should outline: - The scope of work - Timeline and payment schedule - Materials and specifications - Insurance and warranties - Cleanup and waste removal responsibilities Having everything in writing helps prevent misunderstandings and protects both you and the contractor.

Bricklaying- 10 Oct 2017
We had reservations about the inexperience of the company, but were assured by them that they would do a good job, and they appeared professional in their initial approach. Unfortunately this was not the case. The overall job is adequate so long as you do not look too closely at anything. This was after an extra week putting some things right. The lads themselves were pleasant enough, but did not spend as much time on site as expected and were disorganised, resulting in materials being wasted. I would also question their skills as bricklayers. Some of the brickwork is OK but some not at all. I’m consoling myself that the overall finish is ‘rustic’, but straight lines are definitely missing. Their attention to detail is also woeful. Pointing leaves a lot to be desired, particularly in the stone walls, and parts of the outbuilding need attention already as pointing is missing in places. Corners were also cut and now just coming to light, after we spent the last weekend removing a people carrier of old footings, re-done footing or mortar, rocks and hardcore underneath the soil in the new borders. The only consolation is that the plumbing, electrical and roof work were subcontracted and those people appear to have done a good job. On the basis of our experience I could not recommend this company unless you know exactly what you want doing, how you want it doing, are able to supervise all parts of the job to make sure you are getting what you asked for.

I could not be more pleased with the work done by Dean and his team. Dean came out to quote on the job and explained exactly what he would do and the expected timescale. He quoted a reasonable price. Dean and his team arrived on time everyday and worked to a very high standard which was reflected in the finish. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody wanting a garage conversion. Highly professional, polite and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for a great job!

After the such short notice required for a bricklayer to attend my parents home the following day, Andrew contacted me within the hour to say he can fit them in between jobs and on the day they required. I wasnt around to meet Andrew and thank him but I can comment on the work he has done. The brick work and finish are outstanding and I will definitely be using him should I need any brickwork doing in the future. Thank you Andrew for helping my parents, and I shall look forward to seeing the final result. Cherie

Tom came very promptly and gave me a very fair quote for building a wall. I needed the job doing quickly and he started work with a colleague on Monday morning. He lent me a large tarpaulin to protect the bricks from rain, which did not deter him because he knew the job was urgent. By Tuesday afternoon, he had finished the job to an excellent standard. The pointing of the concrete blocks and the bricks was very neat and he left the site clean and tidy. I could not be more pleased with Tom's work and hope to use his services again. W.S., Beverley
