In 1980, I started working for my father, J W Grant Builders, established in 1948. I learned the trade for 10 years, and we worked together until he semi-retired in 1995. I then changed the firm's name to A J Grant Builders so that people know exactly who they are hiring for their building projects. A J Grant Builders is still a family-run builder, and we do the majority of the work ourselves from start to finish.
