Question 1

Do bathroom fitters in Preston handle plumbing and electrical work?

Accepted Answer

Many bathroom fitters in Preston are trained to carry out basic plumbing and electrical work, such as installing new taps, showers, and lighting. However, for more complex tasks, like moving pipework or rewiring, they may work with plumbers or electricians. Always check that anyone carrying out electrical work is registered with a competent person scheme such as **NICEIC or NAPIT.**

Question 2

Will a bathroom fitter dispose of old fittings and materials?

Accepted Answer

Most bathroom fitters in Preston will include the removal and disposal of old fixtures, tiles, and debris as part of their service, but it’s best to confirm this when getting your quote. If waste disposal isn’t included, they can usually arrange it for an additional fee.

Question 3

Do I need planning permission for a bathroom fitter in Preston to renovate my bathroom?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, you don’t need planning permission for a bathroom fitter in Preston to renovate or replace a bathroom, as it’s considered internal work. However, if you’re adding a new bathroom where there wasn’t one before, or your property is a listed building, you may need approval. Your fitter can advise you or direct you to your local council’s building control team.
